Public official's need to held to at least the same standard as the average Californian.
Schwarzenegger, not one to be held accountable in 2003 when 16-women surfaced to accuse him of sexual abuse/groping allegations and who at that time had an active libel suit in the British courts based on allegations of fondling a London journalist in 2000, passes the buck as well. AG Lockyer, to politically inept to investigate the Kennedy Democrat (thank you-Eunice) for serial sex abuse allegations, allowed the Governor now a Calif law maker to never be held responsible. |

Jake: Your quote, "...AG Lockyer, to politically inept to investigate the Kennedy Democrat (thank you-Eunice) for serial sex abuse allegations, allowed the Governor now a Calif law maker
to never be held responsible." Just exactly what are you trying to say?? |

Ok, so I am looking at all the blogs on this matter on Sacbee.com , and now my home paper is bringing it up so here we go. The Cal Fire Chief was arrested on the suspicion of DUI. And now the "public officials need to be held to the same standard" boo birds have come to roost. So let's look at the situation based on the reporting of the AP. CHP pulls over a male speeding and exhibiting signs of DUI. Fact 1, he was off duty in his personal vehicle (unlike Carol Migden). Fact 2, CHP did there job with an apparent unbias that has been common with Sacramento Law Enforcement (SSD vs Roseville PD). Fact 3, Chief Walters has taken responsibility for said actions, and is taking a hard personal look at himself. Not one person on this planet is perfect, we have all made mistakes. Owning up to ones mistakes and not continuing down a path full of mistakes makes it a learning experience. It is what it is, public officials make mistakes, public officials are human.

Another great example! Let me buy you another drink and we'll discuss a pay raise! Hey, maybe even give you a company vehicle for the next time?

Del Walters is a grown man that had been appointed by Schwarzenegger, as Califoria's top fire chief; a public safety officer.
Walters' knowingly gets into a vehicle, breaks the vehicle code-speeding-and is discovered to have a BAC over .08. Getting in your car drunk is not an accident, it's reckless endangering behavior and shows poor judgment as an appointee. Walters may have a drinking problem as well; seems the guy is unfit for the job. ====== AG Bill Lockyer's public theater of threats to Schwarzenegger ended with no investigation. Our Governor could easily be a registered sex offender if the powers that be held to the Terminator to a similar standard as the inmates that Schwarzenegger is now releasing. How many of the People would be allowed to investigate themselves? http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-6969640.html Article: Schwarzenegger to hire own P.I. to probe charges Lockyer says claims 'stain' incoming governor's reputation, administration. SACRAMENTO -- Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to hire a private investigator to probe allegations that he groped women over 25 years, but may keep the results from Attorney General Bill Lockyer, a Schwarzenegger spokesman said Thursday. Schwarzenegger's reluctance stems from Lockyer's admission Thursday that he told Schwarzenegger the allegations of misconduct "are not going to go away" and that he should cooperate with an independent investigation. Lockyer said he spoke with Schwarzenegger as recently as Wednesday about the charges that surfaced during his gubernatorial campaign that the former actor had behaved boorishly toward women in the past. The allegations won't go away ... |

How is your reference to Eunice Kennedy relevant to anything about your posting to this topic?? That is the question.

Could be that her testimony on his behalf carried a lot of weight in the dismissal of the charges. It was felt that as his mother-in-law, she would have known the 'real person inside' quite well.
(Also that as a Kennedy, her wishes were taken to heart.) |
