Three children and one adult were injured in a crash that occurred Thursday evening in Pemiscot County about a mile north of the Arkansas state line.

Saw the children seconds before the accident. Update their conditions, if possible. Very sad, I will be praying for them and their families.

Judged: 1 1 1 4 wheeler, ATV, whatever you want to call it, I believe the legal age to drive it is 16. God never forgets his children? Seems like nobody was watching over these children. Children, not licensed drivers. I hope they have a complete recovery. They're in good hands in Memphis. |

There shouldn't be any arguing over whether a mule is considered a 4 wheeler or not.Everyone should be focused solely on these kids. And I've always been taught that God puts us through things that we don't understand.Lets all pray for these children and the gentlemen who was driving the truck. He surely must be suffering right now.

Judged: 1 You were the one sounding rude with the comment about the man being forgotten. Right now is not the time to discuss whether the children should or should not be driving. Focus on their recovery and quit placing blame. Don't you think the parents are hurting enough not to mention the children? It was a mule, I know because it goes by my house just about everyday and I know the family. You know a mule with 4 wheels and a steering wheel. Not a 4 wheeler with handle bars that you turn but it really makes no difference. The children still were injured. An update about 30 minutes ago said the child with the brain injury was responding and is stable. Good news. The other little girl is doing good and will recover. I'm sorry if I sounded rude but I've know these people all my life and I'm upset. |

Judged: 1 I'm really hope all of them make a full recovery. Bottom line though is 16 is the age for driving. Young children should not be riding or driving atv's of any kind on roads. I can see them doing it in fields and such but roads is a no no. |

Ok Christian you really did sound rude. I agree. The man needs just as much prayers. He, like any adult, is going through a lot of guilt right now. He has barely been mentioned. I can only imagine what he is going through. Yes, the children need lots of prayers but so does he!

He probably has kids of his own.He was driving a 2001 vehicle and probably doesn`t have collision insurance.Did anyone stop to think he lost his vehicle and maybe a weeks pay and may not have means to aquire another ride to work. You bet I feel for him but also the kids too.He needs our prayers also.Thank you

I know this really isn't the time. The truth of the matter is he was not at fault so somebody else will be paying for his injuries and vehicle. It's just that simple. That's what laws are made for. With that being said this was terrible accident with one child fighting for her life. |
|
I'm sure that after the lawyers get their hands on this he will have a new truck, hospital bills paid, recoup lost wages and a settlement for his pain and suffering, as it should be. I still say all of that is unimportant right now. The main thing is for all to recover and THEN and ONLY THEN dos one address the other. I said I was sorry for sounding rude but no where do you even consider yourself at fault. If I met you in person I don't think I would like you very much. I'm done! |

You have met me in person and big news,I never and won`t ever like you.

I doubt that the families of the injured children are on Topix. Now should be a good time to address the issue of children and ATVs, while this accident is fresh on our minds. How many more children will be injured or lose their lives before parents realize that children and powerful vehicles do not mix? Read these stories from parents who have lost children due to ATV accidents. They shared their stories hoping they might spare someone else the heartache they've gone through. Maybe it would have made a difference if they had read stories like these before their child rode an ATV or 4 wheeler. http://www.atvsafetynet.org/stories.php |

Who owned the mule that the kids were riding in? Did the parents know where the children were? I thought u had to be 16 to operate a motorized vehicle on the road and have a license!!! We need to pray about that also. They will be held accountable for this.

That road is getting more dangerous every day...period!..I see more and more "near misses" regularly with every type of vehicle. People (kids/adults) have to be prepared for anything there!...Wishing a full recovery for all involved.
