You mean the guy's considered good enough for 28 years, including when the judge everyone praised was court president, and then when that new president judge takes over, who's quoted almost daily in the paper as screaming at defendants (the other judges aren't quoted nearly as much, although I'm sure they see just as many scumbags - maybe they don't crave for the attention as much and don't care about reading their sentences in the paper) and who makes little comments she thinks are funny at defendants' expenses (like the one about the shoes she Fedex and she doesn't want anyone to wear her shoes when she sentenced the Fedex driver who had stolen from his own truck, also quoted in the paper - can't she just sentence the idiot and be done with it?), then that veteran employee not good enough any more? Hmmmmm... Sounds like an ego clash.

If as someone had posted, he was an "at will" employee, this kind of thing is not uncommon.

If as someone else posted, he was the type not to take BS, then perhaps his management style rubbed the new PJ the wrong way.

This is not uncommon in the real world.
If your style is at-odds with that of management, you're shown the door.

I have no doubt that he has had some problems with the new President Judge, and he probably saw it coming once Freedberg was replaced.

Every Judge feels entitled to make pompous statements, as though they were some Archbishop or something.

The smart ones are careful not to do so on-the-record, instead waiting for the final gavel.

Those not smart enough could face an appeal to their decision, and worse, allegations of bias.

``he accepted an offer to retire involuntarily.''
Huh? Only in government, like the two chumps in Bethlehem City Hall a few years ago who pushed each other down. That is one way to get a defined-benefits pension.

I had an opportunity to meet M.M. in a professional capacity. He was a very nice person and seemed like he has integrity. It looks like this poor man got boned by his own. Such a shame.

This couldn't have happened to a nicer fellow...This guy was as sexist and racist as they come. Serves him right for all the injustice that he has done since becoming Chief. Hopefully Lehigh County will wake up and see that his friend who is Chief up there is just as bad and corrupt as Mark Mazziotta is.

So the Morning Call's approach to online reporting seems to be to run the same story (sometimes slightly warmed-over) for several days.

If their print market is dying, and this is their effort to grow/maintain an online audience,...... they have a way to go.

Does the new leadership have anything to do with the Lower Saucon Township district judge announcing, just one week after the new county president took the reins, that she's going to retire at the end of this year, though her appointment runs for longer?

The reason she gives is to spend more time with her daughter, but typically mothers give that reason long before the kid turns 3. Just wondering.

Regardless of the reasons, I'd say that the new PJ has everyting to do with this entire shake-up.

Kinda makes you wonder, huh?

But, if ever called-to-the-carpet, this PJ will no-doubt issue the most PC/innocuous statement possible.

Stay tuned.

The PJ sure seems to be on a power trip. People who've worked for 28 years for the county deserve better than being told they have to clean their office by the end of the day, and then are escorted out by a deputy sheriff. That was done to deliberately humiliate the man. Good people in power (those who use power wisely) let the employees they fire make a graceful exit. The little, rancorous people do what she's done. Not a good sign.
