Wreck victim identified as Fayette woman
Register-Herald Reporter A Fayette County woman has been identified as one of two people killed in a collision involving a vehicle and a tanker truck, authorities in Nicholas County said. However, the identity of the second victim in the Saturday’s crash has yet to be confirmed. Vickie Akers, 51, of 56 Riverview Drive, Charlton Heights, was killed in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. She was a passenger in a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. The male driver was also killed, but Chief Deputy Wayne Plummer said the man’s identity has not been officially confirmed by the state medical examiner’s office. The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on W.Va. 39 in Canvas. Apparently, the driver of the Wrangler veered left of center and struck the tanker truck head-on, the sheriff’s office said. The Wrangler reportedly caught fire after impact, according to the Nicholas Emergency Operations Center. The tanker truck’s driver, 63-year-old Peery M. Angles Jr., of Roanoke, Va., was not injured. The accident remains under investigation. |

1 You are smart to post under "Anonymous" with such harsh comments about the dead. Since you are to scared to post your name, I am sure you would have never made such comments to their faces! You are a coward and how soon "karma" finds you. My condolences to both families and their loved ones!! |

1 Considering that you claim you seen it with your own eyes, apparently you were at Michelle's drinking as well. Did you drive yourself home, or did another drinker drive you home? How cliche! Family members of the deceased should take your comment directly to the county commission and their lawyer's office, confidentiality is a law that faces punishment if broken. Obviously, one firefighter should face charges. With a soul as empty and demented as yours, may Hell nor karma find you! |

1 Exactly who is the "man" that you are referring to? Is it the firefighter that Anonymous was speaking of? If this is the case, then the families need to take both yours and Anonymous' posts directly to the appropriate authorities including their attorney's office. I hope that both families sue the pants off this little firefighter with the big mouth along with the fire department and county!! |

1 You should seriously take the above posts to your sister's husband. To my understanding, any person involved in the emergency field (police, ambulance, firefighters, etc.) cannot speak of or provide details of any manner to the public involving any case that they are or were involved with - confidentiality! Also, Nicholas is such a small county, it would not be hard to find out who the firefighter was. And, "Anonymous" posted a comment on another forum at the exact time in which they posted on here. According to that post, I'd guess it's a girl living in or around Craigsville. And if she was in Michelle's as she said, it wouldn't be too hard to find who she is either! Best of wishes to you and your family. You are in my heart and prayers. |

1 I think the only 'bitch' in this statement, is you. You should do your research on someone before you slam them. I am Vickie's oldest daughter, Lesley. I'll post my name, since, I'm not a coward like you. I think you're the lowest of slime to write this about the dead. First of all, you don't know my mother, and probably didn't know Sabin. Usually, the people who call someone else 'trash' should be pointing their fingers at themselves. My mother was married. Happily. She did not ever cheat on my father. Did she like to have fun? Yes. Is that a crime? No. She was probably expecting a safe ride home that night, nothing else. Secondly, the fireman that you were talking about? We'll deal with him accordingly. He's the biggest fool of all. I guess maybe he can catch a little attention from the death of someone's loved one. How wonderful for him. My husband is a firefighter also....he's fully aware of the rules and regulations they have to follow with regards to wrecks and dealing with family members. This firefighter who is running his mouth, must have 'little man's syndrom'. And you, you must have no life. But, then again, what goes around, comes around. You'll eventually pay your dues as well. Next time you degrade someone, have enough ass to post your name. If you have any further questions or comments about my mother and her 'state' upon wrecking, feel free to get a hold of the accident report (that's public knowledge in case you didn't know) and call the driver of the truck they hit. He can tell you the same thing he told me, my mother was on her side of the vehicle, fully dressed. So shove that up your ass and choke on it. Regards, Lesley |

DEAR ANONYMOUS, YOU MUST FIND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO WITH YOUR TIME! YOU HAVE HURT THIS WHOLE FAMILY BY THE REMARKS YOU'VE MADE AND WE FIND IT COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!! WE WILL FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE, SURELY YOU ARE NOT SO STUPID TO THINK THAT WE CANNOT FIND YOU AND PROCEED WITH SLAMDER AND DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER CHARGES. THIS WAS MY HUSBANDS SISTER AND MY VERY DEAR SISTER IN LAW YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS. THESE POOR FAMILIES HAVE BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH WITHOUT HAVING TO DEFIND OUR SISTER FROM THE LIKES OF SCUM LIKE YOU!! DID YOU EVEN CONSIDER HER HUSBAND, HER MOTHER, DAUGHTERS, SISTER, BROTHER. GRANKIDS, IN LAWS? ABOUT HOW WE MIGHT FEEL ABOUT THE BIT OF NEWS YOU CHOSE TO ADD YOUR OWN SPIN TO? SHAME ON YOU AND MAY GOD FORGIVE YOU FOR BEING SUCH A GOSSIPING TROUBLEMAKER!

It both sickens and disturbs me to know that this family has to read the hurtful words from people who didn't even know this wonderful woman who was killed. I did know her and loved her dearly! Instead of gossiping and spreading lies about her you should all get on your knees and ask God to forgive you for being such small minded people. Vickie was such a beautiful soul who was taken from us so early. She is missed by all who loved her! She was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, and more than a sister to her siblings more like their best friend! I feel proud to have had her in my life and to have called her my friend. I will forever miss her and hope that next time anyone feels the need to talk trash about her they consider her family and what this is doing to them during their time of grief! I love you Lesley and GG!
