For those who have recently lost their job, or anticipate the experience in the near future, just as important as it is to look at yourself in the mirror each morning to verify that you are presentable enough to leave the house, it is that important to look a one's financial picture by way of creating a reflection of your current situation through the itemization of a household budget.

I have posted a detailed budget form on my website for just that purpose. Although it is there for the use of senior home owners who may be considering a reverse mortgage, I think it is an exceptional tool for everyone.

The form can be accessed and downloaded by going to www.johnkaravas.com and clicking on the Help tab. You will see the budget icon on the bottom left side of the page.(From John of www.johnkaravas.com )

Connecticut has refused to accept the reality that its major source of income is from FAIRFIELD COUNTY and that it is the FINANCIAL SERVICE industry that has been the underpinning of its affluence. It continues to allocate rescourse to the HARTFORD GOVERNMENT sector and not to its real CASH COW.

In addition like most of the NORTHEAST states, like NEW YORK, RI, MASS Connecticut has not invested in new techology industies and jobs and has not built on its strong education population

In short, the state needs to recognize it is competiting for its survival against the rest of the world and must recogize its real strengths and build on them
