I THINK THE DECISION TO MOVE HIM WAS WRONG. MY HUSBAND IS A RETIRES VET DUE TO A ACCIDENT. WE DO NOT AGREE. I THINK HIS PARENTS REQUEST SHOULD BE HONORED. HE WAS THEIRS FIRST. MAYBE THE MILITARY SHOULD START A MEMORIAL AT ARLINGTON FOR THOSE WHO 'deserve" to be there whose family objects. that does not mean that i dont understand his siblings feelings.. the vietnam war was such a divisive time. WHY ARE WE STILL HARKING ON IT. MAYBE SO WE DONT TALK ABOUT OUR CONFLICTS NOW.

My father is buried in Arlington. He was a highly decorated WWII Veteran. Arlington is a place of honor.

Whatever this hero's parents wanted, they got. Now it is time for him to be with his compatriots.

Michael is a Medal of Honor winner and there is no higher degree than that. The Crescenz brothers are doing the right thing. The ceremony is beautiful and sad at the same time.

Rest in Peace.

It is men like this that fought for our freedom, many giving their lives so we could be a free America. I have a very high respect for these soldiers. And do you think they would have done the same thing if they new that one day this country would be taken over by foreigners? Lets keep the America they died for and not let this country slip away from us.

I also have a son buried in Holy Sepulchre. I understand his parents not wanting him so far away.

Are his parents also buried there? And would his parents be upset with the decision to move him from the place his parents wanted him and probably visited many times.

It just seems like the children are going against their parents wishes because they are not there to voice their opinion.

I mean lets face it, it is their SON first and their BROTHER next. right?

I get the impression that the parents wanted him close so they could visit his grave. Now that they both are also deceased, there's no need to keep him close for their sake.

As I passed an American Flag today, I thought of Michael
Crescenz and all of the military personnel who have served, presently do serve and will serve our country with the utmost of loyalty, pride, and dedication. I am reminded, too, that the freedom we experience as citizens comes with a price, including self sacrifice of one's own life, like Michael Crescenz gave on that fateful day in 1968, so that others may live.
I did not know Michael Crescenz personally but do remember as a 6th grader attending his funeral Mass at St. Athanasius.
Thank you, Joe Crescenz and Family, for sharing Michael's heroic efforts with us. Many of your St. A's comrades have been following Michael's story since his recognition as a deserving recipient of the 2008 "Promise Fulfilled Award" by the Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Your brother is every patriot's dream!
How nice to have celebrated Michael's life on May 2nd, the feast of St. Athanasius. We look forward to the continuing event of Michael's reaching Arlington to rest peacefully in the company of God and his fellow servicemen and servicewomen.

I knew Mike Crescenz. He was a year older then me. His brother Pete & I were best of friends during those years. One day Pete,Mike & Charly came into my neigborhood to beat up a trouble maker, just for kicks,(the guy deserved it), but he lived on my street so I warned this guy and he got away. the Crescenz boys turned thier rath towards me, I never forgot it. This was all kids stuff really, but I hope Pete reads it and we can share a laugh. Mike Crescenz was one hell of a guy!

As a personal friend of the family, I know that Michael's mom and dad wanted him close while they were alive. They have been gone for a long time and are buried in Cape May, NJ. They knew at some point in time that Michael would find his peace in Arlington. The five remaining Crescenz Brothers have done the right thing. They are honorable and true to their brother. I was with the Crescenz family at Michael's disinterment and his burial at Arlington. He is where he belongs! With the rest of America's heros.
