Request for outsiders in sheriff's officer inquiry

Kanalakis stinks but Garcia's campaign is over before it began. He may be a great guy but he doesn't have the machinery in place. Why is this election in June rather then November? Someone else must challenge Kanalakis and his good old boy club. Has anyone with the paper found out whether or not Don Chapin has received any benefits as a result of his friendship with Kanalakis? A gun permit perhaps? A shieriff's badge? Jail construction work

Look at many of Kanalakis' donors, how many of them are felons? Really unseemly.

I have not seen Kanalakis do anything to help our community. You know I'm still waiting to see an officer in this department that is friendly with the locals in any of the Monterey county towns. Anytime you approach one to ask for assistance they give rude looks and comments wanting to take anyone to jail rather find out what the issue is. We definetly need a new big dog in town get ride of the old. Look at the crime rate everyone always trys to blame salinas PD what about the Sherriffs Department. WE NEED CHANGE NOW!!!!!!!!

It looks like the (K) in Kanalakis stands for Kick backs, Kuruption, Kontributions, and Kaniving!

So this helicopter deal, the felony misconduct that he got away with at Lagunita, and some type of conflict with the boy scout camp were what I found in just a short time of searching. I also know he tried to get some work from North County Fire but they said no to him. The thing is he should have known better. Because of this old boy network - is that why they haven't pressed charges? What about the other conflicts with Hartnell and his then son-in-law. Any conflict there? Lots and lots of questions that need to be looked into by an outside agency that has no conflict or knowledge with Chapin. He's on way too many boards and was supposed to take ethics training.

High Bob, how you doing, its me "Dirty Harry". What about under the table contributions Bob and so called favors. Bud Cook gave out Badges. Some of my Monterey homeboys received some including the owner of the "Sardine Factory" who had it stolen in Hawaii.

Someone must throw their name in the race if it is only Garcia and Kanalakis, Kanalakis wins in June there will be no race in November people. We need a third party a guy like Gang Task Force Commander Robert Eggers to run for Sheriff. Then it is at least a three way race a June run off, and Monterey County could have new blood in as Sheriff January 2011. Works for me, bye bye Kanalakis and your corruption.

Bob Eggers will not have the support and a three way race favors the deep pockets of Kanalakis.
