Water works

3 people living in the home, 1 works full time & 2 part time our average water bill was anywhere between $100-$150.00 a month. No leaks can't understand why it costs so much. Most of the time its more then our power bill but we don't use the water as much as the power. I've spoken with other people who have 3 or more living in the home & theirs usually don't go over
$100.00.

I am afraid that is what we will see as long as we have local government in charge of public utilities. Too much waste and mismanagement.

They are gouging...just like everyone else

you i think some times they put the money in there pocket then we have to pay the price it not right just look at the new trucks get its wrong

mine is usually around 120 - 160 a month and that is without any leaks. i dont understand what is going on because there is only 2 people that live in my house and we dont waste water either. i cant explain it but someone needs to. its not right.

everybody needs to quit paying their bill and let them cut all of us off....what will they do then?

That water is not worth a penny.. it's always red and reeks of bleach.

I pay 200.00 a month.

Wow this sucks. I live in a 3,500 square ft home with 3 1/2 baths in GA with my wife and 2 kids and my water bill is about $20.00 a month. You all should attend a few city council meetings and raise the roof... united we stand and all that.

When a private company takes over a water company, the rates go through the roof. We think we have it bad now. I can't imagine what the rates would be if the water company was privately owned.

I live in Pineville and the water/sewer combined is from 80 to 120 a month for just about anyone you talk to. Ridiculous!!!!

Water rates are based on the number of customers you have in your area. Oceana and Pineville are so small that our rates are higher than a system with more customers. It's a matter of mathematics.

You seem to be an expert on water systems. I would be curious to know what your credentials are?

Water and sewer is way too expensive

No something is not correct if water rates are this high.. In Alabama where I lived for 8 years and just returned back home here.. They are privately owned.. With just my hubby and I and I would wash a lot of laundry.. around 25.00 a month. With two of my adult children living with us 30.00.. Then I helped my brother his wife and kids an xtra 4 people in my home it jumped to 60.00 a month.. So its extreme up here.. In Florida the water and sewer combined ran abt 50.00-60.00 a month usually your sewer bill is 3 times the amount of your water. Thats how fla explained it to me... So really I think its not the water thats high in this area but the sewer rates.. Another thing you can do is .. When they come read you meter go out and write it down your self.. Then the next month do the same thing.. Subtract the 2nd reading from your 1st reading and that gives you ur usuage, When the bill comes in see if they match.. Ulities always run 1 month behind... Just a suggestion

my moms and dads only one home and they pay 200 a month on the water bill thats too much. it too much too live in Oceana

Lol.This Town Taken Our Money From Us.I Know One Thing January My Water Bill Was $138. And Now March It Was $103.Why Is That.And Its Just Me,And My Daughter Here Stays,Lives Here We Live In Oceana Shorts Trailer Park.We Barely Make It As It Is.Day,By Day.Pay Our Bills,And Food We Are Broke.Water Bill Just Keeps Goin Up,Down On Me.So You Dunno What Expect.You Can't Even Drink It.I Think It Tastes Like Bleach,Whatever Else.Lol.When I Was Kid I Wouldn't Even Drink It.About Afaird Bath In It.Know What I Mean..And Goodsons Are Getting So High Can't Go Noweres Else Shop Of Gas So High.What Is Poor People Goin Do..Gotta Worry,Take Care Kids At Least..I Know My Baby Is #1.
