Lets see how fast all those folks who have been sucking the welfare system run out and get one of these jobs. They can no longer use the excuse that their are no jobs out there. I say the welfare office needs to send their clients who (cant find a job) out for some interviews and drug screenings. It's time they earn their money.

They need to set the jobs up for them. We all know they are to lazy to go looking for a job. The welfare office need to say we have a job lined up for you. If you don't take it NO MORE HELP GET OFF YOUR A$$AND WORK

As long as we have Metro Housing, free lunch programs, and welfare, these people aren't going to get off their lazy butts. It's a generation issue and the cycle doesn't seem to stop. Teenagers think it's "cute" to push a stroller around the fair with their bi-racial babies.

Part time with no benefits doesn't really county. The factories want to hire temps. People are tired of working for 11 an hour when the person working beside them is making 20 and is getting full benefits including a pension.

But, if you do your work well, come to work on time and have an attitude that you're willing to help no matter what, usually you'll get moved from that $11/hr. temp job to the $20/hr permanent job. I'm sorry but when temps come in complaining about how they have it so rough, but then aren't willing to do any extra, to show any initiative, then I don't have a lot of empathy for them.

Paul Bennedetti has never worked a hard day in his whole life. He should get off his fat lazy ass and see what work and labor entail; these hypocrite teabaggers talk about work like it's something they've experienced 1st hand.

Who cares whether or not he's worked a "hard day in his life???" He HAS worked and supported his family on his own, with no government handouts

Are the jobs available or are they not??? And just because a job is "hard" doesn't mean people should still collect assistance because it's "too hard."

That is what is wrong the system: people who have no job skills and have never tried to better themselves by obtaining an education (which probably would be paid for by our government but they don't because it's HARD WORK) would they'd rather sit on their butts and whine!

My father taught be go to college and you make more with less toil. He didn't pay for it, but he instilled a work ethic in me at a young age. Instead today, kids leave HS with little training and want to make the big bucks right away. Work hard, learn a skill or trade and put your time in.$20 an hour will full benefits will follow for those hard working individuals willing to make themselves worth more to their employer than they cost that employer.

America has only become a country of dimwits and handout seekers in the past decade. We used to be able to outthink and outwork anyone.

if these companies and businesses would start hiring people that made a couple mistakes when they were younger, instead of continuously punishing them by "we don't hire convicted felons". The jobs would get filled, believe me. Buts its never gonna change.

$11.00/hr is more than they are making.SUCK IT UP One has to crawl before he can walk. Take the job, be independent. These same people have tattooes and cigarettes. Try buying them yourself.

I have had to pick $hit with the chickens. Never received a government subsidy, no free lunch. Worked hard all my life BUT no one told me how to spend it and I always managed to squirrel a little away with each paycheck. Darn....just think I could have set around and walked to the mailbox once a month and picked up my check.

you remember what you just said. You reap what sow. Cause one day your gonna be asking GOD " why LORD what did I do". Your comment says it all. You think people should suffer and be punished forever here on earth. One day you'll receive your punishment.

And yes I'm probably going to hell, but thats my problem. But there are good people in this city and county that screwed up when they were younger and turned their lives around. Those people deserve a chance.

I think if people that are able to work are collecting welfare benefits of any kind should have to get out of bed in the morning and go do something to earn their benefits. I don't care if it's picking up trash off the streets and out of ditches. They could mow for the City and clean the parks and cemetary. There are hundreds of things they could be doing. Don't just give them a free ride. Make them get off their lazy ass and work for a change.

Convicted felon, huh?

Why don't you employ yourself? There are many things you can do to earn money without a lot of capital.
