There is so little truth to the story from lincoln. The news even stated he had hoped to become a police officer. My understanfing is he was starting to get a bachelors in criminal justice for homeland security. He had also planned on enroling in an academy in the spring to get his post cert. Troy is a small town in many ways still and from the talk i have heard, no one has ever had a problem or heard of this guy doing anything but being nice and helpful to anyone that actually knows him. They make a very big deal about having his car with lights and a loaded gun when it is legal to have either one for anyone. That does not show intent to break the law. The problem is story's like these are one sided and should be left to the courts and not a news brodcast with missleading information. Anyone can make a situation sound far worse than it actually is. Notice that they dont want people to call in on his defense. Who knows who it is that made the tip to police, maybe there trying to get back at him for something or even to save there own bacon from there own problems by throwing this guy under a bus. Think about it before you judge anyone based on a police stayement

He has a gun (no big deal), he has a car with cop lights (that's a big deal), and he has and displays a Troy badge (very bad). He is a nut and needs to be taken off of the streets. Don't white wash the truth. He pulls a badge and pretends to be law enforcement. Lock his ass up and throw away the key.

I dont white wash truth but things like this where they say he was claiming to be dea but also going thru the right channels to become a legit police officer doing something like this sounds a bit far out. Also why would the drug task force arrest him. Dont they have dealers and other more important things to do. This should have been done by the regular detectives not a drug team. You say showing a badge is a big deal. I agree but they are going on what another person has told them not on what they have seen with there own eyes. We can not condem a person on hear say alone. If that were the case than any person ever accused of anything would be guilty regardless of fact. There was a man arrested in saint louis a few days before for actually pulling people over and was caught in the act but he did not get this kind of attention in the media. Seems like there is something else going on here.

I no Jeff and have for some time. He is a very good young man. Something is wrong with this picture! He would never do anything in the wrong way. I knew Jeff was wanting to go police school later after a few years go on to be a Highway Patrol. He had a great job and had been there for some time before this happened and he hit the Headlines on Channel 2 News. This young man would not touch drugs, if he was any where drugs were involved he would be helping to tell them right from wrong. (Note Common knowledge at the job he had drug testing would be a random thing and I'm sure often) I am sure anything this young man had in his vehicle he can show where he got it. After watching the news channels SHAME ON YOU MR. RAYMOND FLOYD.
<quoted text> Check the law again on the lights please. And then comment on what you have learned.
what i haved learned from mo state police is that you can have any color lights you want in your car as long as there not ran while the vehicle is being driven. Why are so many people so eager to see others punished without getting all the facts. This is why there are people being released from prisons every day that have proved they were not guilty. I mean come on people lets get the thirst for blood under control and dont make rash decissions when you have no clue whats going on and are just going on the little the news has been told...

This is an outrage! If you knew jeffrey like many of us here in troy do it would be easy to discredit this story. This kid has been nothing but kind and helpfull for the 10+ years i have known hin. He is the kind of person who would stop and help you change a flat on the side of the road even if it made him late to work. He had his life planned out including getting his bs degree in criminal justice to specialize in homeland security to protect the rights of all of us. This is a shame that because of this unsupported claim that his plan for a better life for himself and his children have been smashed by such a disrespectful group that call themselves law enforcement. There suppose to be better than the general public and stand at a higher level with the responsabilities they have been given and not just run around and point fingers without being sure of the facts. The fact is that that nothing goes unnoticed and i am sure there are many more that will tell you were tired of feeling like the protect and serve has been forgotten and all thats left is a profit machine just trying to make money anyway they can.

If that was his "plan", did he really think it was wise to do what he did?!?!

Missouri law section 307.175 states that fire trucks, ambulances and rescue squad vehicles can use flashing or rotating blue lights. The state issues permits for the use of such emergency vehicle lights to organized fire squads, ambulance services and rescue squads, and forbids people without permits from using flashing blue emergency lights on their vehicles. Emergency vehicles, including police, may also use red lights to signal an emergency. Drivers of emergency vehicles should not use emergency lights except in emergencies, like when driving to a fire, responding to a call or in pursuit of a criminal No one excepted a permit holder, can have the flashing blue lights. Reds anyone can have.

The company he works for is permited by the state police to use the lights in there vehicles for responses to traffic accidents. That is how all the tow trucks that respond to police calls are able to use both red and blue lights aswell. That section of code is not complete in the law book. Other than that you are permitted to have any lights you want in a vehicle you just can not use them while the vehicle is in motion. Go check out a car show with 60 and 70's police cars they also have the red and blue lights in them but there not arrested for impersonation even there cars clearly say police down the sides.

That's because no police force is still using cars from the 60's-70's so there's no mistaking for real cops. Just telling someone you are a cop is enough to get you busted for impersonation.

He drove a tow truck, thats where the lights should be, not on his personal vehicle! Also, they don't use their personal vehicles to respond to accidents so he had no need for the lights.

Unless his personal vehicle is another tow truck, he had no reason to put lights on it.

Well its safe to say you guys dont know him. Most of his friends are law enforcement or are business owners here in troy. I know him and have for 11 years. I met him when he came home from the military. I can tell you he doesnt hang out with,as you say parole absconders. Also the wife is an ex wife for a reason. As far as i know its perfectly legal to have a car built like his for the reasons he had. He is an active emergency responder and responds to the big traffic accidents and there on the side of the road when there flipping semi trucks back over to get your loved ones out from under the 80,000lbs thats crushing them there useful th keep everyone safe on the side of the highway. Thats where the lights are used as well as at car shows were the children that dream of becoming police officers when they grow up can sit in the car and run around playing in the flashing lights. Some of you may have seen him at the hawk point car show and noticed the dozen or so children who were playing for hours jumping in and out of the car. That sounds like something a bad guy like this would do huh? He has always been the type who would help anyone if they needed something. I nor anyony i know that knows him have ever had a bad word to say about him or the things he has done. The way the story was told by the media sounds to be a one sided story because i know him better than that. He would not risk his career over something this stupid, he is much smarter than that.
