How about we have Pa. State Senator Mike Folmer find and eliminate the $1 billion dollars of fraud and abuse in our states welfare system.

This is an outrage to very taxpayer. October 2010 Mike Folmer appeared on WGAL news an told everyone that our states welfare system was corrupted with $1 billion dollars of waste fraud and abuse. Folmer also said he would never vote to use anymore taxpayer money to fund welfare until this waste fraud was rectified.

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Somehow between Oct. 2010 and Governor Tom Corbetts budget speech Folmer must have found a billion dollars of waste fraud and abuse in states welfare and he forgot to tell us. Gov. Corbett's budget just allocated an additional $1 billion dollars towards this states welfare systems, and Mike Folmer is suddenly pleased with a budget that stiil includes the $1 billion in waste fraud and abuse under the Rendell Administration according to Folmer's own words.

The taxpayers cannot allow State Senator Mike Folmer to vote for another billion dollars of waste fraud and abuse towards welfare before he cleans up the last billion dollars of waste fraud and abuse that he himself told us existed in October of 2010.

The Tea Party has to step up force State Senator Mike Folmer to stop this wasteful spending and hypocrisy that he himself brought to light in 2010.

Folmer has to vote against all this welfare fraud and abuse or cast himslef as a Tea Party fraud.

Stohler said, "They are just transferring the load and doing nothing to reduce the burden of property taxes."

He is correct. Your state taxes may not increase, but other taxes will end up increasing to pay for all of the cuts that Corbett proposed.

Many of you may dislike Litz, but she his also right when she asks why the staff of our legislature isn't reduced along with other cuts. Does anyone have a reason why that should not happen too?

PA has the 2nd largest state legislature in the nation and the LARGEST FULL-TIME! As of 2005, members' base pay was $78,314, the fourth highest legislative salary in the nation, making it the COSTLIEST STATE LEGISLATURE PER CAPITA IN THE U.S.!!!

Anyone thinking what I'm thinking???

Less legislators? Yes.

Less legislative staff? Yes.

Those that remain should cut their own salary, benefits, and other perks? Yes.

Good luck getting any new business other then Walmart to come to Pennsylvania, we spend more taxpayer money on welfare then we do educating our kids.

What a selling point this will be.

That would make Public Welfare the costliest department, topping education, which would drop to $10 billion in fiscal 2011-12. Under former Gov. Ed Rendell, education was always No. 1 and welfare No. 2

Agreed! I'm tired of hearing it too!

Who cares what percentage of the budget their salaries, benefits, and perks account for? If they want the rest of us to "sacrifice" then they should take the lead and show us all how it's done!

And then they should take on defense spending and entitlements.

You have to read this.
Governor Tom Corbett has given one man the power to do whatever he wants with state permits. A state permit CZAR wiht ultimate power even over the entire Pa. State legislature.

Walker unprecedented authority to “expedite any permit or action pending in any agency where the creation of jobs may be impacted. That includes, presumably, coal, oil, gas and trucking.

I actually just read that in the budget, and was struck by the danger of such an appointment.

I definitely don't agree with some of the off-the-wall attacks that you post on these boards, but I don't think you are missing the mark with this one. I understand trying to expedite the process of "bringing jobs" to our commonwealth, but allowing one man to be the be-all-and-end-all in this situation seems to lack in the area of checks and balances. Doesn't it?

Do you all realize that we are the ONLY state that does not tax the natural gas extracted from the Marcellus Shale, something EVERY OTHER gas-producing state does?!?

Where is "Chicken Feces" Carpenter's opinion? He must support Corbett's assault on the middle and lower classes, under-funding schools and universities, and the inevitable property tax increases. As for Stohler, he supported and voted for Corbett, so now he has no right to complain. His blind loyalty to the Republican Party will wind up costing Lebanon County big-time!

this is what we get thanks to all the voters that wanted to show their displeasure with the democrats for the slow economic growth. i guess in our "instant gratification " society the disaster of the 8 Bush/Cheney years was supposed to be completely wiped out in a year and a half. think about that when your local taxes rise while the gas drillers and corperate interests reap their rewards from the republicans. let the buyer's remorse begin !
