Lets hope we don't have to change the road name to Pipeline Rd. instead, but money and rich Republicans sure do tend to get their way around these parts.
It is too bad, but features like this are about the last priority a project such as this one takes into consideration.

Mr. Baum summarizes it concisely: "This property is my investment. Why should the gas company come in and ruin my investment."

The Spectra Energy spokesperson is correct when she says that, "the company does not publicly discuss information concerning impacted land owners ...."

This is not a transparent company when it counts. For example, when Spectra Energy recently had an emergency shutdown of its giant compressor station in Bedford County -- due to a gas leak -- an oily contaminant was showered over neighboring properties. Not only did Spectra Energy fail to notify authorities as required by law, it took three days before it told property owners not to eat the vegetables in their gardens before the contaminant could be tested!

For its pathetic behavior where public safety is concerned, the PA DEP issued a "Notice of Violation" to Spectra Energy.

If Spectra Energy is going to be your neighbor, better check out the company's track record. For info on the latest in a long list: http://www.spectraenergywatch.com/blog/...

That's what I caught when I read the part about "my investment." But then again I thought possibly he was referring to "investment" as in a natural appreciation of the earth and it's creations. But then again who knows if they offer him enough say like more then he could get if he sold it himself. Maybe then again there is no price.
Thanks again for the link.

I think it's high time once again for York County to pay millions for another worthless piece of land for a park. Just think of how the Indians sat on those rocks and the views it can offer if it was developed?? we wouldn't want that now would we??

Come on York Country slaves, cough up another 30 Million plus lawyers fees, developer rights and we can have another nice park for say 120 million or so..........WTF is that in the scheme of things??

The last part only cost us each like $7 each right, WTF is like $15 or $20 for this one??? Get your checkbooks out and start writing for god sake, it's for our children's future??

If you lift the rock on top to the left, and look under it, you'll see the date stamped on that rock below it reads: "Made with Pride, 5,000,001 years B.C.E."
Geology is quite simple, really.

Wow! That is the same way you can tell how old a house is. Take the cover off of the toilet reservoir and note the date. Who knew that Geology was directly related to such an important bodily function...

This is pure silliness and stupidity. The pipeline company will not drill and blast unless absolutely necessary to cut a tiny trench (maybe 3 feet wide, tops). Drilling and blasting is safe, but expensive. A small backhoe will probably do just fine for the trenching.

Three hundred feet from the "landmark"? It might as well be three hundred miles. This moonbat bonehead is doing nothing more than trying to extract a few more dollars from the utility company.

And by the way, while the rock itself may indeed by precambrian, the topography we see today is far more recent, certainly no older than the end of the last ice age.

It is your property. We all have a right to make a decision of the property we own. The United States is not a communist or socialist country where the Government has the right to come in and take when they decide it is their right and power to do so. Even though this would be an unethical move by our government or by a company or for a company through governmental rule by judgement in a court setting it has happened in the past and is happening in the present more and more. Good Luck with your decision and if there are any compromises you will have to make. Utulity companies, etc. have most times more financial means and therefore power to give them control of the decision who wins. You do have a right to ask your price and expect that price. I wish you the best in your endeavor.

You are right on that one. Highpoint, hmmmm. Comes to mind. But this guy does not owe back taxes on his property so I wonder how the Texas gas or the government will twist this one to take what they want.
