i totally disagree with this kind of decisions. for the absent parent will think it will be ok to continue to be behind as long as they are paying half of what they were ordered. and always think well, ill get a break again, this is being very negative and what about the children, to me its not, its about lets give the absent parents who continueously stay behind a break.. really think about it. the reality of this is kentucky tries to make you believe they are for the children, then what do you call this, that they are for the dead beat parents is how i look at it.. enough said... this is the most stupidist state and their laws are so contradictive. lets get real here... and maybe if they all would stay off the drugs they could get some good laws done around here.. and stick to them..

I am a firm believer in parents paying their child support, while at the same time I see no help for the children to see their parents go to jail, that just puts a stigma on the kids. I feel this 2nd change the county is giving the parents is a great thing.

One of the biggest problems I see is that some not all parents take that child support and spend on other things. Anything to do for food and houseing is legal but I have seen first hand that the parents would go to walmart with say a 65 dollar cs check buy a 5 or 6 dollar clearance sale outfit for the kid and blow the rest on fake nails hair color or an outfit for her. Tell me how thats right?
But fortunately the courts with child support office has made changes. Child support can be put on a debit card with restrictions like no cash withdrawls and spending tracking. Thank God. More good news is that a parent is no longer allowed to live off of child support that when a child reaches the age of 3 the parent either has to go to school or work. My question is why isnt the courts doing more to inform the parents? All this info came from my attorney. |

my two babies father is paying back medical expenses for a 21 year old. it's not child support to the parent. the child has been raised. but it will take the rest of his life and chances of being taken away from his babies just to pay back the state of ky for a medical card they had over 20 years ago. i'm all for raising and paying to help raise your children. but he can face prison time because the state wants their money and doesnt care how they get it. it has nothing to do with being a dead beat dad. this is what's stupid!!!!
