"LS Power, Centinela’s developer based in New York City, told the county that it plans to build 175 megawatts of the project next year, reported the Imperial Valley Press. The remaining 100 megawatts will be added later. If it sticks with the timeline, then it could complete the project ahead many of those that received permits last year but have yet to start construction."

275MW total output when built out. It looks to me like the Plant is just an excuse to build the power corridor, one close enough to Mexico and their large coal fired generation plant.
