No DNA on truck in racially charged Paris case

Full story: WFAA

Texas prosecutors say they still plan to take to trial a racially charged murder case against two white men accused of running down a black man with a pickup truck, even though they have no physical evidence or eyewitnesses linking the suspects to the crime.

Hold on just a second. If "they have no physical evidence or eyewitnesses linking the suspects to the crime" then, how, exactly, are they bringing these two men to trial, how did they charge and indict them with the crime, what the hell is going on here?

Don't know what kind of evidence they showed the grand jury, but sometimes Gary Young sways the grand jury to vote a true or no bill. If i was on the trial and there was no physical evidence and no eyewitnesses it would be hard for me to convict them even though in my opinion Finley isn't the nicest person.

What jew guys don't get is the grand jury don't convict anyone!!! They just decide if there is enough evidence for a trail. 12 men and womens in a box and or a judge will do the convicting! or not convicting!

Your right about the grand jury not indicting. But what you don't know is i have been on the grand jury before and i know how he can sway the grand jury to vote one way or the other. Luckily for some, some of the people i was on the grand jury with had a mind of their own and voted what they felt.

then, why may I ask does he still have this job??someone needs to have a Full investigation on him and his office, And No, I have not been in trouble but I know someone who did get into something there, and what this man did, anyone on here or on any jury would have done, but it did not matter to Gary, He wanted only a guilty plee,And to avoid any trouble or A jury trail, he took the plea and guess who got a conviction? Yes Gary, and you can write Back and tell everyone how great he is, And he may be to some, tuff on crime is great ! but at what cost, now I do not know the ins and outs of this case, but if it comes out that the boys charged with this are not guilty, I would call for a FEDS Investigation on the whole office...past case and in the now, remember, this could be you, your child , or someone you know next, and in Paris, its guilty until not ! and who ya know, How often has Paris made National news as of late??? and at the hand of...and at what cost??? why do you think some people move back and take a job here in that position? cause can't make it any place else....eat them alive !and a track record like that of wins....again...what cost??? And who's the winner??? Paris ...I do not think so.....wonder why big biz wants out and others don't come here? Tuff on crime yes! fair and whole truth..yes ! FACTS GO A LONG WAY!

Youre right about that. I know a man with no legs and in a wheelchair thats about to go to trial accused of agg sexual assault. He has no body from the waist down. A girl and two men came to his house at 1am claiming they were in distress, physically assaulted him and asked for money. He called 911 for help telling them he was assaulted and the people wouldn't leave and he was scared of them. They arrested him even though they knew she was stoned out of her mind on drugs, had found drugs on her and had the two men with her the entire time she was at the handicapped mans home. They took him out of his chair for the mug shot. Took the pic from waist up and had him fold his arms. Couldn't even tell he was handicapped. They put his height down as 5 ft 9, wrote in their report the girl was the one who called the police and Young got an indictment.

No DNA on the truck? Surely they are mistaken. Maybe they should look again, and again, and again.

I think the trial should be moved further away than Hopkins county. These men might have been in trouble before and served time before BUT they still have the right to a fair trial. What if the dead one was another race besides black would the black panthers be making noise? There has been so much leaked out about this story that I don't think they will ever get a fair trial no matter what. No one on this thread knows what really happened and should not breed hatred and make statements that they can't back up. As far a the protestors go, I think everyone that shows up in protest ought to be kept away from the trial. This could incite a riot that would cause even more damage to property and lives. Have a silent protest and make a bigger statement. Don't burn crosses on either side for once! It might just be an accident and then again if they are guilty then the truth WILL come out. I was in a murder trial in another city, county and state and I know when it's all said and done the verdict is is in the hand of the jury. The DA might think he/she have an open and shut case but I doubt it. Remember no one has heard any testimony yet, have they? You that claim to have 1st hand knowledge are spittin in the wind and might get your own clock cleaned before it's all over. IMHO

From the looks of things, these two may have suffered a "rush to judgment" and both may very well be exonerated when this thing goes to trial.

OMG you have to be kidding? RIGHT? There is no f****** way. That is a disgrace to that poor man. Did it go to a jury trial? If so I hope the jury could see though that LIE. I would love to have been in on that one.

They said the truck had been "thoroughly washed." I suppose that means UNDER the truck. That would also mean that they "thoroughly washed" away most of the dirt, grease, etc UNDER the truck. So, I ask, how clean/dirty was it underneath the truck?

They could wash the undercarriage all they want the motor would have still pulled particles into it so the whole washing the truck idea is bogus

Toby Shook must have an idea since he claims it happened. I suppose if you dragged someone to death, you may be highly motivated to clean up the mess, even if it means spending all day at the car wash, UNDER your car.(that's not conspicuous, is it?) Not really sure how that would work with the long nozzle, but motivation can make the impossible seem possible, right?

Actually they tested everything down to paint chips and rust spots. Not to mention there was not any watermarks under the truck and they do have pictures of the undercarriage that didnt appear to be washed just a few hours after the accident when Shanon took his truck in to the DPS. Time will tell,,, wonder what will happen today? Now get off here and go get my check!

Who knows. According to the paper it sounds like these guys are too drunk or stoned whatever to be that competent. They only had a few hours to clean the truck top to bottom as well as (like you suggest) go to the parts store and buy new filters and repair any and all damages that may have occurred before the cops showed up to ask question. Think that truck looked like it just came off the lot, even under the hood?

Naturally when the cops DID show up,(assuming they did their job) they did a preliminary inspection on the truck and saw nothing that piqued their interest. I assume cops are trained to spot fishy things. Instead, they let Finley and Crostly go.... anywhere in the world they wanted to go.

Then the black painters show up. THEN they want "justice." Justice is discovery of the truth and accepting the truth regardless what it is. Justice is NOT blaming someone simply to have a scapegoat. They can go get a voodoo doll for all that.
