Hickman town to get Edwards visit
I think people in the western part of the state and rural America really pulled together to have their voice heard on a national level
A burg of 229 people along the Mississippi River in Western Kentucky has landed a return visit to the state by Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards , thanks to an aggressive online campaign led by a 24-year-old activist. Columbus, in Hickman County, received 1,817 votes in an online competition to beat out cities such as Dallas and Los Angeles for a chance to host Edwards at a soon-to-be-scheduled town-hall-type appearance. The contest, sponsored by the online site Eventful.com, ended yesterday at noon.
