Inland port site bad fit

Thank you for listening, Ms.McPherson. When I moved to the Hendry County/Glades County area 20 years ago I was amazed at the poverty, lack of decent government services, lack of physicians and dentists. Glades County doesn't even have a pharmacy. The only thing that keeps these two counties alive are the teachers, fire/rescue workers, community organizers, church ladies, largemouth bass and speckled perch. The inland port would give a lot of defeated people some hope.

You are right dear, but Big Sugar owns Florida government, and therefore the port will be built on their land, even if it means the destruction of the Everglades. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who the US Sugar deal benefits the most, so who's pocket do you think Uncle Charlie is in? Besides, since when has the Army Corps of Engineers had any common sense anyway? They started with a swamp, built thousands of miles of canals to drain it, now they are trying to get water back into it. Somewhere along the canal digging process the proper balance had to have been reached, why did they not stop there and then? Because they are idiots who don't know how to manage their own bodily functions, much less the environment.
