Iraq vet remorseful after rock climber dies

Everything sucks about this. I understand the widow.

And it was a brave thing for him to admit what he did, he could have come up with a million excuses, or they could have hid like all the hit-and-run people have been doing lately.

I had a friend riding his bicycle and he was crossing on a green light and a woman hurridly pulls up in a black truck talking on the phone, doesn't even stop at the red light and immediatly turns right into my friends bike, knocking him off. And you can hear her saying to the person on the phone that she just hit someone and then backs up and drives off as fast as she could.

That's a coward who should be charged. I think it is commendable that he admited his guilt, for something that was obviously an accident, just like what the woman did. And an irrisponable one at that. Lesson learned: Don't throw rocks from cliffs.

I feel for the widow and the community affected by this tragedy...but forgiveness is something there is too little of in this day and age, as is honesty. It's refreshing so see someone stand up and be accountable for their actions in a society where it seems almost acceptable to run and hide from the effects of your actions. My heart goes out to all involved in this and i hope that someday the widow can forgive.

This is a realy sad storry.
