Democrats and Republicans both are up to their gills in corruption. The problem is we keep electing the same dummies for the sake of party alignment. Why do some of you people blame everything on liberals? The conservatives have been in the White House for close to 8 years, and
they are their corporate business partners looked the other way for
years. It wasn't until the conservatives constituents complained that
they changed their views. I know, I'm unfortunately right in the middle of this bullshit.

Most undocumented immigrants have NOT committed a CRIME by being here, violation of immigration law is a CIVIL infraction - it's as illegal as a traffic violation.

Ah yes,but working here without a ss# is illegal and working with a fake ss# is a felony. You see the big raid in Iowa today? It is against the law to commit fraud. |

As a resident of Frederick County, I for one would like to APPLAUD Sheriff Jenkins. By simply doing his job, enforcing the laws of the land, his department will not only reduce crime, it will let those who choose to break the law by living in our lovely County illegally know we won't stand for their ways.
I think that the line taken here by the SUN is absurd. It seems that CASA de Maryland has brainwashed the paper's editorial staff into believeing their 'mistruths'. The illegal migration of Latinos and others into rural areas like Frederick County can have a devistating impact on many facets of life. Everything from property values to Public Services can be devistated by those who are here illegally. Just one simple fact: Those here as undocumented workers are not re-contributing to the local economy, they are sending the bulk of their pay 'back home'. They have no ties to the area, and therefore have no reason to invest in the economy. This puts yet another strain on the local law abiding tax payers. I think the SUN would be better served not admonishing those enforcing the laws. Perhaps that energy, and outlet could be better used to expose problems n their own back yard, such as the blatant corruption within Balitmore City's government. But then I guess that is not in line with CASA de Maryland and it's champion, our 'esteemed'(cough) Govenor. |

I seriously doubt there are any statistics that support that lax enforcement of immigration law will produce a better law enforcement environment. I have only heard of one incident were an illegal came forward to be a witness. He was a witness to the murder of a contractor who had illegally hired his illegal alien killer. If the idea is that illegal aliens will come forward to report crimes committed by other illegal aliens, I believe it wouldn’t be better to deport all there by illuminate the need for any

"A job for the Feds"
Which the feds are not doing. Local involvment in curbing illegal immigration is growing across the nation as feds continue to ignore this problem. Are there fed agents on the ground that can actually do something about this? Hell no, not like police and sheriff level officers. More left wing hand wringing from the Sun. Gawd i hate liberals. |
