Hopefully the Poloice Actions will discourage other illegal immigrants from moving to the area which will solve the problem of illegal aliens destroying the community.
I say what ever we can do to make life miseable for the illegal residents, the better. |

Illegals are a strain on hospitals, schools, taxpayers and more. They have no right to live in the U.S. I'm glad Frederick County is cooperating with ICE. Hopefully other MD counties will do the same.

1 He has sworn to uphold the laws of the US Costitution and the Stae Constitution, as well as all laws. If doing his job properly drives the illegals away, that is the way it should be. I just can't understand what part of the word ILLEGAL some people just don't understand. By being here illegally, they have already committed a CRIME. |

I see the thug hugging children at this rag spewed out this garbage before their naptime.
ILLEGAL is the key word. Oh, I forgot, the liberal goofballs pick and choose which laws they see fit to abide by. Kudos to the Frederick county sheriff. The children of the rag say, "We hope it doesn't start a trend in this state". Well you weak-kneed bed wetters should stop thinking about future constituents and think about obeying the laws of this country, not just in Frederick County but ALL the counties in the republic of Maryland... |

1 Frederick County, Maryland, not only has the right check immigration status, it has a need to do so. Its county citizens' taxes are being squandered by illegals demands upon its social services, their increased crime rate, lack of paying taxes and driving county roads both without insurance and driver's licenses. So they cause crimes amongst themselves. What of it? Illegals preying upon illegals is not the county's fault, while solving the crime is its responsibility. If the illegals were not here in USA they would not be victims here. Giving illegals the proper deportation which they deserve while crime solving seems reasonable. The county sends an illegal tax-dollar consumer back to her country of origin free and, at the same time, sends a criminal to jail and later off for deportation. It's a win win for the county and all US citizens, everywhere. Concerning the issue raised in this wrong-headed editorial, " A job for the feds," that it is bad for Frederick County to work in concert with US immigration because it is not "serious police work" and because it makes illegal aliens fearful to call for police help is misguided liberalism and outright foolish trash talk. The job of all our local police is to protect us US citizens and to catch criminals. Since when is not catching an illegal, non-lawbiding alien not a proper police activity?. Methinks that the writer of this slanted, illogical editorial ought to crush his rose-colored glasses underfoot before complaining more about what police should not be doing. |

I do believe that an overwhelming number of tax paying legal citizens in Frederick County agree with what the Sheriff is doing. It never ceases to amaze me that there are those within this state who have the view that we m ust accept those who choose to violate our laws and illegally enter this country. The Baltimore Sun once again has it wrong. Luckily, their arrogance has served to awaken the sleeping giant of legal citizens. Citizens of Maryland should go a step further and assist those enforcing immigration laws by reporting those that they believe are here illegally to the proper authorites. I nelieve that is my right as a legal citizen of these United States.

well written post. I agree. The "author" of the editorial did not put his or her name on it. Did you notice? |

Illegal is the key word. Good for the Sheriff for taking part in this program. If they are here illegally - send them back. It is not that difficult to understand. Illegal means illegal.

I think it is great that Frederick County Sheriff is enforcing the law.The more Liberal policies our so called representatives have enacted , the worse our society becomes! When schools and parents could discipline their children the students didn"t attack teachers. When americans were hired in construction they used to be able to make a living. By our government allowing all these ILLEGAL immigrants into the country they have lowered american citizens wages and standard of living . I agree that all americans should report LAW BREAKING ILLEGAL immigrant. I only wish my children had the chance to grow up in the america I was allowed to grow up in.

Unlike the Sun, I hope it does set a trend for this state. It is amazing how politicians decide what laws to enforce and what laws not to enforce. At least the Sheriff of Frederick County is trying to uphold the law.

Way to go Frederick County ! It is VERY obvious that this paper is very pro-illegal. Maybe we should change the name to the Del Sol !

1 Enforcing law? It's a trend long overdue. "Crime is reduced, and more easily solved, when residents trust the police; the Frederick County policy encourages the exact opposite." Crime is reduced when criminals are separated from society. Trust in the police increases when the community sees the police enforcing all of our laws, not just the ones that are inconvenient to liberals. "But why should Frederick County deputies take valuable time away from serious police work in order to spend it determining a suspect's country of origin or scrutinizing potentially fraudulent citizenship papers? That administrative task properly belongs to the federal government, which has been doing such work for decades." It's obvious to anyone but a moronic Sunpapers editorialist or a liberal that the Feds are swamped. There are 20 million plus illegals in this country. Police are often required to scrutinize identity documents. Criminals often hide behind aliases. See 20 million plus illegals. "The second phase, which has yet to take effect, is even more problematic. It will allow for a cadre of 10 officers to perform immigration-related work when responding to service calls. They will be authorized to perform citizenship checks on suspects, witnesses, victims - anyone in the vicinity of a crime scene who arouses an officer's suspicions. This cannot help but have a chilling effect on relations between police officers and Frederick County's growing Latino community - and for no discernible gain." The reason the Latino community is growing nearly anywhere is illegals. Imagine yourself a hard working person...Latino or otherwise. You ran the gauntlet of immigrations officials and now you're working here legally. Do you want to compete with someone who sneaked across the border in the back of a Yugo, and because he may or may not be paying taxes on his labor, can work cheaper than you. Fair? I think not. No discernible gain? Your growing Latino community seems responsible for driving higher crime rates, particularly violent crime and drunk driving deaths. We have more than enough home grown criminals and idiots. We don't need to import any. No discernible gain? Illegals are a huge drain on our scarce social services. "The sheriff's policy will only drive her and other illegal immigrants further into the shadows..." If the Arizona experience is any guide, they won't go into the shadows. They'll go where they're encouraged. Maybe into say Montgomery County, or maybe Guilford, where the limousine liberals can experience first hand what damage illegals do to communities. |

Why do some of you people blame everything on liberals? The conservatives have been in the White House for close to 8 years, and
they are their corporate business partners looked the other way for years. It wasn't until the conservatives constituents complained that they changed their views. I know, I'm unfortunately right in the middle of this bullshit. |
