This story hits right at home. My family and I were in an accident on July 9, 2007. My girlfriends daughter, Cindy Haas, was killed. She was pregnant. Also killed was an 8 year old boy.

The man who hit us goes to trial on July the 29th of 2008. He has pleaded not guilty. He will probably get 20 to 25 years and then be free do drink and drive again. This man had previous DUI convictions and a suspended licence, but he was still behind the wheel that tragic day.

If the laws were stricker maybe he wouldn't have been there that day. But, the reason why the laws are not so strick is because a lot of officals drink so it is easier on them if they get caught.
Just like that one officer who refused the breath test.
