Ga. Supreme Court rules against ban against allowing kids around father's gay friends

Full story: www.sovo.com

The Georgia Supreme Court has tossed out part of a Fayette County court's decision that kept a divorced father from exposing his children to his gay friends, according to a Monday press release from the Supreme Court. In the ruling, Justice Robert Benham wrote the high court acknowledges that trial courts have the discretion to "limit a parent’s exposure of the children to certain people, if it can be shown that the children would be adversely affected," the press release states.

Damned bigoted jurists ought to be shot at sunrise. Don't they issue brains to Judges in Georgia? Taking away the right of association based on a parents sexual orientation is just plain and simple bigotry, ignorance and hate. Shame on the foolish mother for making her former husband go through this legal process. Her relationship with her children will suffer for years to come because of her hatred and ignorance. And she'll wonder why.

Shame on the mother indeed, she has probably caused irreperable harm to her kids by being such a bitch.

When did the GA Supreme Court become so enlightened? And when can they export some of that enlightenment to MS, AL, FL, SC...?

It's inevitable. The other state courts will find the right cases, sooner or later, if the Feds don't first.

It will take time.

The Ga Supreme Court was just saying that the 'trial court' did not prove that the children would be adversely affected by having to associate with their father's gay friends.

The major effect on children exposed to diversity is that they turn out to be more tolerant of differences. Heaven forbid! 8110

Can we all stop with the violent hate speech? We wonder why it's expressed towards the gay community but many of us are so quick to respond to those who disagree with our very lives in such a verbally primitive and violent way. Their is no justification unless we want to perpetuate judgment, hate and violence.

Individual trial judges do make mistakes and allow their biases to influence their decisions inappropriately. Fortunately, the Supreme Court of Georgia overturned that bad decision--apparently unanimously. So Georgia's justice system is working--at least in this case--albeit slowly.

With so many priests, ministers and other religious officials found to be pedophiles and sex predators, they would be the appropriate group to sanction.

The courts should make it a crime for them to have contact with anyone under 18.

Violent hate speech? I hardly think my comment violent, or at most very barely so and certainly not hate speech.

The mans constitutional right of association was taken away from him for Christ sake. What're we supposed to do play patty cakes? Get real!

But only those with normal human intelligence would know that.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Virgo

This is not a day for sitting still if you can possibly avoid it because it will be a fast track to bad temper and sharp-tongued outbursts. Have plenty of short breaks, go for lots of walks or work up a sweat in the gym in your lunch-hour. If you're driving, keep an eye on the speedometer because it will be very tempting to go too fast and you'll be furious if you're caught.
