I would have to disagree with Professor Guelzo as it being an old wives tale. Since I was born and raised in the area I know of at least of one instance that the Fed's were there looking for the gold. So Professor Guelzo,if there was no truth to it then why was our goverment treasure hunting?

GENERALLY THE GOVERNMENT KEEPS THE PUBLIC FROM DIGGING UP ARTIFACTS ON PUBLICLY OWNED LANDS. THERES A LOT OF HISTORY IN THE GROUND AND IN THE BAYS ALSO ON THE BEACHES WERE I LIVE BUT YOU CAN'T GO PROSPECTING FOR THEM. THE GOVERMENT HAS NO INTEREST IN THE POSSIBILITY OF DIGGING UP HISTORY IN MY AREA SO FOR THE MOST PART THE HISTORY WILL BE LOST FOR EVER.AND THATS A SHAME.THE LAND AND THE WATERS BELONG TO THE PEOPLE THE PEOPLE SHOULD THE RIGHT TO RECOVER THERE OWN HISTORY WITH NOMINTERFERENCE FROM ANY OFFICE.

The people can't dig but the state can, look at the big mess on Winslow Hill. Alout of trees were cut, where did the money go? Alout of limestone removed, where did the money go? And then the coal!!!!! Restoration is a joke, you level off all the damage and plant seedlings off which most die. Pennsylvania Wilds arn't what they want people to belive they are!!!!

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Cancer

You could struggle to display your feelings and emotions at the moment. Being so sensitive, the smallest things could hurt your feelings, but no one else is likely to realise since you retreat into your shell at these times. This will not be a conscious decision, and you'll feel frustrated at your inability to explain the hurt you suffer.
