It's dry as a tinderbox, hotter than all get out, and these inconsiderate morons are thinking about allowing fireworks this year. What's more important, fireworks or the public safety? I say public safety. Arizona's burning and we don't want to follow in their footsteps.

Geez us Christ I have never ever never see on and topix from all over the world as such dumb SOB's as ElPaso can produce. The subject is about a ban on fireworks if you stupid morons want to blast off fireworks go to messyco and have at it. Half of these people crying if were asked what day is Independence day in the USA would say September 16 around here. They think the flag is red white and green with a chicken and a worm in its claws. Instead of a RED WHITE AND BLUE with 50 STARS on it. Does Mexico people whine and cry when the officals put a ban on fireworks over there ?

The don't ban things over there because it's pretty much anything goes. That's a shame for all of those who are shot, raped and stabbed to be sure. But it's a boon for folks like me who like to go over, have a few tequilas, shoot off a few rockets and then hook up with a sweet Latina. Mexico is the ultimate example of a place I love to visit but wouldn't want to live there.

If there is a fire, would we have enough water to put it out? Considering that the Rio Grande is bone dry and we are in the preliminary stages of mandatory water restrictions here in El Paso. Food for thought.

Who is going to be liable when my neighborhood burns down because of drunk people going apeshi(t) lighting fireworks recklessly during this Fourth of July? Also, there is limited water resources to put out any fires caused by fireworks. What's more important, making money (fireworks vendors) or the safety of the public? I say public safety is more important. We're in a drought, people.
