4 killed in Dillon County car crash

Most traffic fatalities are NOT alcohol related, so it will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

All 4 people involved in this accident were in fact not drinking this night. The guy driving went around a curve where there was a stop sign and did not see it. He ran the stop sign and collided with a Volkswagon and all four died. Not all accidents are related to alcohol.

I was a good friend of both Eric and Tera both and there couldn't have been alcohol involved. Eric and Tera both were such sweet people and will greatly be missed. My heart goes out to Wanda, Quentin, and Cody, as well as Bubba and Erin's family.

"A Mullins woman died Saturday morning in a four car crash at an I-95 exit ramp in Dillon County.

Highway Patrol says a car coming off of I-95 ran the stop sign at the top of the Highway 38 ramp and was hit by a second car.

The first car then hit a car driven by Tashema Ford, 34, of Mullins. She was killed.

A fourth car then hit the first car.

Four people were taken to the hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

Highway Patrol is investigating the crash."

The VW Jetta is built like a freaking Panzer tank.

This is the second Jetta that I've seen photographed after fatal crashes where the other car is demolished and the Jetta just has front end damage. I have a VW Jetta diesel and its built pretty solid, nice to know.

HAMER - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Dillon County that killed 4 people and sent another to the hospital.

According the SC Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 11:25 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of State Road 40 and State Road 50, about 4.5 miles north of Dillon.

Cpl. Paul Brouthers said the driver of a 1999 Saturn ran a stop sign and was struck by a 2001 Volkswagen.

The driver of the Saturn and 3 female passengers all died at the scene.

Dillon County Coroner Sam Grimsley identified the victims as Jeffrey Carpenter Jr., from Kentucky and Erin Hullett, also from Kentucky.

The other two victims, Tara Brittany Doss and Eric Michael Ross, were brother and sister.

Tara lived in Latta and Eric lived in Missouri.

Brothers said no one in the Saturn was wearing a seatbelt. The driver and one other passenger were ejected.

The driver of the Volkswagen, Lydell Hinson, 32, of Fairmont, was transported to McLeod-Dillon for his injuries.

she does not have her wrecks mixed up. my brother and sister died because her boyfriend ran a stop sign. it is possible for there to be two wrecks where they ran a stop sign. there was no alcohol, drugs or even speeding involved in this accident. it was just awful timing...

Yeah, "awful timing", that's it.

Chrystal, so Bubba was driving? I had heard that it was Eric. There's been a lot of confusion going on with the stories back home that I can't even keep it straight now.

hey im randon erins brother bubba was my cousin yea he was driving, i hate all this we all lost ppl we love, i never met tera or eric but it would have been great to. i miss them all so much.

Randon, I am terribly sorry for your loss. I only met Tera and Bubba three or four times, but Rain and Eric constantly brought smiles into my life, they were both great people.

I Believe that their are things in life that we cannot Explain but when GOD Calls your number its time to go and although we dont kno why are friends were taken GOD has a plan for them and..they Will NEVER be forgotten..RIP ERIC ROSS , ERIN (RAYNE) HULLETT , BABY ROSS ( kaleb Lane ROSs) and JEFFREY (BUBBA) CARPENTER JR< TERA DOSS<< WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU and you Will Always Be LOVED..

..They all may not have been wearing seatbelts but , seatbelts wouldn't have saved them. They were not Drunk or under the influence of anything.. They just didnt see the stop sign due to the roads not being taking care of..THEY SHOULD HAVE A WARNING coming around that curve saying STOP SIGN Ahead. So.. i Believe that it was no ones fault but the state.. four people have died there before this.. something should be done About THIS!!!

Sober people have the least amount of excuses or reasons for killing themselves in traffic crashes. Oddly enough, sober people account for 60-75%, of highway fatalities.

Tera and Eric were wonderful people who brought many smiles and laughs. I hate it that they were taken fromt his world, but I feel at ease because I know that they are in a better place. Even thought I never got to meet Rayne or Bubba, they had to have been wonderful people to be with those two. I know that the five of them are resting in peace.

I would like to know what you mean by The wages of sin is death?@ of my chilren were killed in this accident & I will have you know right now that they were doing nothing wrong when this accured. I think there is a time for sertain comments and A time that you should just keep your comments to yourself, & this is one of those times sir. All 4 of those young adults were wonderful people and would have done anything in this world fopr anyone, including you if they could have. Anyone who knew them loved them dearly. Please keep your negative comments to yourself when it comes to my children. It has been hard enough dealing with their deathes without finding things like this written about them. Thank you...... Let me tell you this you sarcastic little shit. I am the mother of Eric And Tera, 2 of the 4 killed in that accident that night. Yes, they all 4 died that night, but it WAS NOT because of DRUGS OR DRINKING. My son and his friend Jeff were not from South Carolina and did not know the roads there very well. They had no warning of the up coming stop sign and there fore Jeff ran the sign. Maybe you should get your facts straight before you start posting your mouth on any pages regarding anything period. I will be praying for you though.. in hopes that GOD will give you a heart with more compassion in it.
