“It gives us a chance to hear native songs, eat native food; just be around other native people.”
Sally Tuttle has a family reunion this weekend. However, this family isn't related by blood or even by marriage. via News-Sentinel
I visited Auburn for the Native American Powwow. I go to lots of powwows. This was a small one, but very well organized and well run. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. The dancers were good and the drums were great.
I met the lady who was in charge and she was very nice. Her name was Judy Knapp. She put a lot of hours organizing this.
For those who missed it, I highly recommend it when it comes around next year. It will only get bigger and better with time and support from the local businesses and people.
This is an excellent way for people to learn the customs of different cultures. I am Native.(Shawnee)
Watch for this next year and give them your support!
