Put your foot down and vote NO. Do not fall for their BS scare tactics. Palos Heights Fire is operated much better. Both departments run similiar call volume and Palos Heights does it with 6 guys on duty. People I called around. Alsip, Blue Island, Crestwood run more calls for service with less manpower. No citizens or firefighters are dying over there so why can all of those other departments do it and not Palos? We need to hire a new chief who knows how to run a department be fiscally prudent and put the union in their place. Palos fire runs less then 1 fire per month. Listen to your scanner when the have a fire call, Palos, Palos Heights, North Palos, Lemont all respond. We do not need the amount of manpower. One other point, let Palos Heights take over coverage of all land in Palos Heights and Orland take over all land in Orland Park that is covered by Palos Fire. This would lessen their work load hence they would not need the amount of staff they have. This is the union trying to protect their cush jobs. It is Palos Park for Christ sake how hard could it be?

I agree I am voting no. It is time to put a stop to the goverments crazt spending! Do not fall for their scare tactics. I agree with you this is PALOS PARK. We live 10 minutes from a hospital at our farthest border and have less then 1 fire per month. I will take the chance and further more I live in Palos Heights why cant we annex into Palos Heights fire they are run way better?

Don't be afraid to voice your opinions today, even if you suspect that they aren't what everyone is expecting to hear. It's important to speak your mind, and there's no need to worry about treading on anyone's toes or sounding outrageous because that isn't very likely at all. If you're talking to someone, your conversation may take an unconventional turn that you weren't expecting.
