I was on the jury that convicted and added ANOTHER death sentance to his numerous other convictions. Many years later, his defense team had the nerve to show up at my home to see if I'd help with an appeal! I saw the evidence of the lives he took ... I wonder if he suffered anywhere near as much as his many victims. I doubt it. Good riddance.

I was living in Atlanta at the time of the Jack Potts trial and sentencing. When the verdict was death he demanded to be executed immediately saying he did not want to live without freedom. As day of execution neared he changed his mind and the state let him live another 25 years or more.
The daughter of Andrew Young became friendly with him as a prisoner referring to him as Jackie in the newspapers.

I was in Jackson prison and was being transported back to Jackson from Augusta state prison when the officers told me that we had a death row inmate going back with us. Only then did I learn about Jack Potts and the reason he was on death row. He told me the story of his past, and the murders he had committed. I can tell you that there was no real reason other than the adrenaline for the killings. He also told of his several attempts to escape from the county jail when on trial in the 90's. I will never forget the coldness in his eyes as he recalled the memories in his mind of the killings. When I asked if he could do it over again, "Would he". His responce was simply,"YES".

Justice was carried out, without the help of the court system. He won't bother anyone else.

Jack Potts was a 3rd cousin of mine on my Father's side of the family. By chance, one of the people he killed Michael Priest, was my 3rd cousin on my Mother's side of the family.

Sorry Josh, but you missing your grandpa should not impede on my right to free speech, which I'm sure wasn't something he afforded his victims, now was it?

Our lives were impacted my entire life knowing of these things. My mother Norma Edwards Blackwell still to this day fears of his name.

I never did get the stories of this. Nobody really has talked about it much.

I for one am glad he is dead. Seems to me the cancer was a more painful way to die than injection or the chair. My tax dollars won't be paying for him anymore.

we all make mistakes and there is a reason for every action we make.we are all for given.god has a place for all my husband ralphy is ASMP. i pray he comes home soon.cause the charges he got i was there .are NOT TRUE .I LOVE YOU BABY ROSEBUD.

you're a bollox if you're glad he's dead you're just as bad as any murder saying that!!!!!!!

How can one be happy that someone else is dead? People make mistakes and unfortunatley his miastake landed him in prison. He had to live with his mistakes, his pain is now over. How can you feel pain? DId you even know the man? I did. He had his ginuine side that only closest to him saw. God forgives all sins. Sins are sins and are equal. May God rest his soul.

if you did not know the man you should not judge him. that is gods place we will all answer to a higher power. He lost a lot and suffered also, many things in life he did not get to enjoy as a father and grandfather, unless you have walked in his shoes or his family shoes you do not have a clue, he had children that never had a father, grandkids that did not even know he existedso tell me how he did not suffer,drugs were a big part of it. Let the man and his family have peace, his family has paid dearly for what he has done, even though they were not responsible for what he done. Yes he suffered physically and mentally with his livedr disease that he got from ablood transfusion back in the 80's. But he taught a lesson showed that prison is not a place one wants to be. Yes he was a mean but he had to be to survive as long as he did in prison on death row.

I was a young police officer in Alpharetta when Jack Potts came through a checkpoint and was stopped. We did not know the Preist boy was dead in the trunk of the car. From all I've heard Priest was on his knees begging that he be spared. I guess now CANCER did not spare Mr. Potts. So as said over and over "what goes round comes round".

I can say i'm totally glad this monster is dead ! and I can't believe there are people making comments on how wrong it is to be happy an animal like this is gone..

I can say i'm glad that he busted HELL wide open

things happen for a reason. the justice system doesn't work as fast as karma.

I was incarcerated when your grandpa was in Forsyth County on appeal. The deputies would let me talk to him through the doors of our cell block. Your grandfather never disrespected me or even struck me as others have judged him. I wrote him for years and he actually invited me to research his case. He may have killed. But I feel that there was a chance that alot of drugs involved, too. I just wanted to hopefully let you hear a positive side to a tragic story!

That's pretty cold Mark. Maybe you have freedom of speech, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't think about what you say before you say it, does it?
