Grove City's past superintendents, who held themselves to a high standard as examples for their students, must be turning in their graves at the hiring of Mextorf. His past appears to be as opaque as Grove City's School Board. State College folks need to make this man's history transparent. No one will ever believe this was the best candidate. That is an injustice to the others who applied and if I were one of them, I would be coming forth now. As a retired teacher and one who once taught for the GC district I would be too humiliated to explain this hiring to students. If this is the best GC could come up with, ... well you get the picture. If the job stressed him out and forced him to drink, he needs to find another career. If he had a shred of decency, he would bow out. And when he leaves GC, he needs to take this board of Good Ole Boys with him. After all, it's about the kids, the message, the future.
