That's helpful. I was able to find this: Wolfson Verrichia Group, Inc. is developing Oxford Commons, a 434,095 sq.ft. center located on Route 10 in Lower Oxford Township, PA. The center is anchored by Wal*Mart and Lowe’s Home Improvement.
And This: Wolfson-Verrichia Group, Inc. is developing the 346,028 sq.ft. Oxford Commons in Oxford, PA. The site is located at the intersection of Routes 10 and 1 and will be anchored by Wal*Mart and Peebles. Three outlots and spaces of 20,000 sq.ft. and 10,000 sq.ft. are available.
However, these are old articles, and since they just put in Lowes on 41, it doesn't make much sense to put one in Oxford.

The sign is still there stating "coming in 2008" across from Redner's Warehouse Market but when?
Will someone actually break ground in 2008 and Oxford finally get a Wal-Mart with other stores?
That would be great to help with our tax base, for sure.

The are breaking ground in November & it should be done in 9 months. There will be a Wal-Mart Supercenter, Verizon Wireless store, Gamestop, Sonic, Arby's, & rumors of a McD's (though 3 fast food stores seems odd), and another big store, not ness. a Lowe's, possible a Lumber store (Lumber Liquidators, 84 Lumber, etc.). Also, behind the bank by the Sunoco near Rt 1 is supposed to be a Steakhouse, like Texas Roadhouse.

Update guy,
Thanks for the post because trying to find out what's going on in Oxford is a pretty hard thing to do :)
Just curious and if you would/could answer how did you come up with your knowledge?....
I hope that your information is accurate because this will be a real shot in the arm for Oxford, especially due to our already high tax base and potential increase (yet another) in the school taxes.
I guess that the new stores will also be Amish "buggy" friendly as well, which is fine with me :)

Yes, Thanks for the update, Update Guy. I pass by the sign every day and actually haven't given it thought since we were told 6 years ago it was going in.

Just heard that the date for breaking ground has been moved to July 2009, due to the proximity to the Sacred Heart School and the concerns the Parking lot for the Walmart, etc being so close to the school grounds.

OK, the school/Parking issue has been resolved, it is now the dreaded H2O problem that has stunted growth in this area for years. The Wal-Mart team & the developers are now drawing up a plan to get the water from Lincoln University.

Yes, the dreaded H2O/Sewer capacity problem(s) in Oxford for years. However, a good sign is the Grand re-opening of the Twin Ponds subdivision and public sewer service. If anyone has any type of money to get things moving in Oxford, I would think that the Wal-Mart team along with the other developers can do it.
Thanks and please continue to post.
