just to let everyone know that would like to read this. i was informed tonight that a citizen of Cusseta was taken for a ride by an out of town asphalt paving company. i want to say that they were out of Atlanta (Stanley Paving Co.) or (Stanley Construction Co) none the less what the name is of the company. If anyone pulls up in your yard and offers to pave your driveway, remember ask how much it will be, if it paid by square foot or square yard, and how thick will it be placed, and how thick will it be when it is compacted down? You do not want to pay for asphalt by the square foot. this company is charging at least 2 dollars per square foot, and it is only one inch thick or less. these people doing this work are looking for half way smooth driveways that need very little work, they will come in and tell you they have a little bit of asphalt left on their truck and need a place to dump it out, then tell you this is a deal they are giving you, when in reality they are ripping you off. and these people like to target the elderly. please pass this along so no one else in cusseta will get ripped off. if you are unsure what to do call someone that deals with this kind of construction on a daily basis and see what they would do? they are several good people in Cussrta would help. just remeber to ask questions before committing to anything.
thank you

My best guess is they were a group of "Irish Travelers" who enjoy (?) the same notoriety as gipsies in the paving and roof-repair business. They are headquartered in Aiken County SC just across the Savannah River from Augusta GA and while they're fixing your driveway or your roof, one or more of them is rifling through your dresser drawers looking for the family fortune in money, jewels, or credit cards. I see them occasionally around the neighbourhood with a pickup full of air compressors, generators, and other high-dollar power tools, peddling them to local businesses if they can or to unsuspecting homeowners. Good luck on using the stuff more than a couple of hours, thoug as quality control is non-existant.
Good people to run off with the bald-headed end of a broom!

Then it must be crooks. The sad thing is that most of the elderly residents do not even own a computer. Maybe the news media ought to let the residents know what is going on.
