So far I am not seeing the new Ladysmith residents stepping up to the plate and showing a willingness to pay their way on this.
Since the addition of 28,000 residents will cause an entire school system to be built to service them, it seems only fair and proper that those residents divide among themselves the cost for these schools, as well as the operating costs and other expenses they will cause the county. Sloughing off those costs onto others is just plain irresponsible, and to do so where children can see is just plain unconscionable. |

Anyone heard anymore on this?

I have been looking unsuccessfully to find out how much the total cost would be.
What they are talking about is building a town the size of Fredericksburg with a similar-sized school system. This thread has sat here for over a month in plain view and no one from the Ladysmith area seems to be willing to carry their own weight. One can't help but wonder what else they wish to shove off onto others.... |

Fredericksburg has two elementary schools- one grades k-2 and one grades 3-5, one middle and one High School, so what they are talking about building here is A LOT bigger than the entire city of Fredericksburg!
|
Here you go again, splitting the areas up man, they are one county CAROLINE, and from what I can tell you don't even live there, I at least have a house and property there, as well as a home here. Why do you care so much about Caroline, do you have kid there? Really doesn't look like anyone stepping up to the plate to hear you tell it Contact the Caroline's local school board if you need more information, stop griping around something you apparently know little about. Looks like a young guy who post here, EricD has expressed many instances for you to litterally to cut down his ideas down, and him personally, is that anyway to treat a person who is wanting to learn and wanting to make a difference in the county in which he has move too? |
|
You have a point. I was looking at stats at citydata and they said Fredericksburg is about 21,000 people and the 4 subdivisions are planned to have about 28,000. That may be affected by future developments, we shall see. What I'm looking for is something roughly comparable in size so we can get an idea of the costs to build and operate the school system that will be built. |

Did someone appoint you this job or are you a contractor for the schools, the couty, or contracted out? Are you a board member, a citizen, developer? Financial Advisor? What is it that keeps you so intrigued with Caroline County?

Burqa, you're not comparing apples to apples.
The 4 planned communities you are talking about are all over the county. Only Ladysmith Village and Pendleton are in Ladysmith. Haymount will have it's own schools (and are paying for one whole elementary school, and land for a second), and Belmont is already mostly built, and the kids are in the school system now. As for Ladysmith, the amount of schools depends on how big you build them. If you build three 500 student schools, or two 750 student schools, the costs will be different. As of right now, there is more space int he Ladysmith schools than there is needed (at this moment). That will allow for further growth. I believe that students from Carmel Church currently go to school in Ladysmith... this will change once they build a school down there. At that point, there will be even more room for further growth... Eventually, they could renovate the old Elementary School (The one in use right now)... that wouldn't cost anywhere near the cost of a new school, and would provide room for another 500+ students. There is 30 acres set aside in Pendleton (proffered), which can be used for a fourth school... but that school wouldn't be needed until the other 3 fill up. As for Middle and Highschools, I believe they would probably look for a location kinda south of Ladysmith, so that it could service both Ladysmith and Carmel Church... then they could build a middle and high school more out east, near Bowling Green. I personally like the idea of building one school for both Middle and Highschool.. then once growth requires more space, turn that school into one big highschool, and build a new middle school. It would be a good way to phase in those new schools. Anyways, there are definately different ways this can work... We'll just have to see what the school board chooses to do. |

See perfect example Eric, you come out and explain it, not as if you were doing the work yourself. You are highly admired for your dedication to the county and the area in which you live.

As the cookie crumbles they stir and stir, in the Fred-Talk forums, they blame and blame again. Begging for new schools, and can't even think of a simple way to keep One High School Clean, the same little groups put out to the forums what they want you to read. They hang and they pal and all the stumble into the groups with thier secret messeages to what to say next. As you have seen them grit thier teeth at each other, WHAT A BUNCH OF FAKES???? Instead of ranting and raving so much looks like it would have been a good idea for you all to pitch in and go clean the High School yourself, instead of the RANTING, beautiful day out this way. I am sure it is equally as good there in Caroline. Looks like most of thier (the peoples) wants and needs are misguided, but lets wait to see who's to blame on that? Is there just one "Super BOS" as you make it seem? My last count I thought Caroline had five, give them all credit, and not just one and PUT your differences asside, Caroline County is at stake here. Do for your county, help your county, defend your county. WHY WOULD YOU FIGHT WITH THEM????
Again Eric A good example of a young, concerned, helping, supporting citizen! |

I disagree, Eric.
They are similar enough in size for comparison. No one is claiming they will be identical, so let's not pretend they are. The geography doesn't matter. I have not seen anything that leads me to believe that money has been found to finance this school system. On FredTalk, misinformation about proffers has been exposed. As yet no one in the new developments has stepped foward and said they will be responsible for carrying their own weight. While these schools will not be built all at the same time, as time goes by the cost of construction will increase, too. King Cobra, sorry, but you are so far behind and have such a lousy attitude, I do not have the time nor the inclination to catch you up. Good luck in figuring it all out. For your opinion to count you are going to have to do more than skim and drop a phrase or two. You don't want to end up being a laughing stock like ken, do you? Well, that's just what he did; thought he could wing it when he didn't know the people, didn't know those who get things done, wasn't involved himself and doesn't know the county. |
|
|
What lousy attitude? Time? Spare me there pal, I don't require your time, don't need it nor did I ask for it. So move it on along to your groupie thing forum. They are probably looking for you, I am sure there is somebody there you can gnaw on a while.

The lousy attitude you are manifesting and which prevents you from developing the sort of group supporting you that I have.
That's what lousy attitude. And yes, I have gnawed on and done much more with the women whose acquaintance I have made on FredTalk. I shall stick around here and observe your jealousy of me. You are jealous of my popularity on FredTalk, you are jealous of my charm and social success, and you are jealous of my connections. Making it worse is your failure to duplicate any of them. So there you are, on the outside looking in, face pressed against the glass, not knowing anyone, not being invited to anything, but you can't help but watch, unable to figure out why you can't be there in the middle of it all. |

"You are jealous of my popularity on FredTalk"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ... HA! wow, I'm not even going to touch that one... Burqa, warning, you're coming off as a LITTLE self-centered. ;) |
Indeed I am swarming with jealousy, guess you have just out witted me on this one, and the jealousy is just oozing from my bones. Loose the presumption, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes. Far as popularity come on give it a break, what point do you not get, the one in who really cares? Sure right I am in definite need of your charms man, and I don't see you in a social success. Yes, I just have my face all plastered on some window, whatever you want to roleplay on, should I put on my imaginery thinking cap for you to? Get with it man, who says I need an invitation or worried about your connections. I don't think nobody really cares how much you have gnawed on the women of that forum, or any other, that's your business. Why would I want to be in the middle of all what the BS, that get's thrown out? Far as my personal life I keep it personal, where, and what I am invited to and by whom, is also my personal business, stick around if you must, just hope you enjoy a man with a lousy manifested attitude. |

I am glad you left the HAHAHA's Eric, he was laying it on a bit thick, even to toot his own horn.

When I got suspended, the voting was about 45-5 to have me back. There are a few who don't like me; put up 25k posts and that is inevitable. But on the other hand I have a lot of friends and have made the sort of social connections mentioned, and have dated a number of women I have met there. Additionally I have built up this whole Chateau Burquois dillio along with my band, the Burqadelics, the Fabulous Burqettes, plus I have posted stuff more creative than you have. Go to the Travel forum there and let's see you top what I posted in the "Fun On the Plane" thread. It ain't bragging when you can back it up, pal. Plus, I'm just irritating King Cobra with the very things that annoy him...... |

Wow, Burqa, if popularity on an online forum is what you need to feel good about yourself, good for you. I'm just amazed that you seem so genuienly proud of your popularity on there. It's not bad to be popular, but there's got ot be more to life than that. If the biggest thing in your life you can brag about, is how you're popular on a forum, and meet girls online, then I feel sorry for you.
Did you ever think that other people don't care about how popular they are online? Life isn't a popularity contest (Well, except politics lol), but even so... I know in my life, my goals are 100% family based... I work to provide for my family, I do house work to have a home for my family... But I post online for FUN. Lately it hasn't been as much fun, but since things are calming down on FredTalk, it's not so bad. If FredTalk ever becomes my life, please someone have an intervention for me. lol |
I can't help but notice it is a topic that fascinates you. |
