I don't understand... how are the parents supposed to teach the kids about the 3 r's when they don't know how to be civil or respect eachother.

PV Mama wrote: <quoted text>shame on the board if thats true. They should be paying something to broadcast. As for the cafe in Lehighton, then BHA should check out Palmerton.Did I see in tonites Times News that we deliver food to CCTI?Please tell me that isn't true. They have a cook program there don't they.Dear Lord, help the PV students and taxpayers!!! I'd feel it would be more like shame on the broadcasters for taking advantage of the districts (since I don't think they pay any of them). More the radio station then the TV one, since after making money broadcasting the game on Friday night they turn around and bash the school on Saturday morning with their mark in the dark, I wish I worked for a real radio station, show my stupidity on the air show, with his co-host with the elephant ears but not the elephant memory. I think the TV station (through their cable company) supplied all the cable wiring and installation and no cost to the district, for the new school, the value of that in itself would cover many years of payment of broadcasting games. If you're inferring the PV delivers food to the CCTI, that's not true, but they do sell them their lunches, but CCTI supplies the transportation for them. As far as the CCTI food program making the lunches, that is a two way street. Personally I feel they're better off not have the students make the lunches, since doing that day in and day out would not give them the variety of exposure they'd need to succeed out in the world. Other then in schools and a few companies in larger cities, there wouldn't be a large job market for these student to find employment with that limited training.

Re attendance at Tuesday's PV Budget and Finance Committee meeting, yes attendance was much better by committee members. There was a full committee of four present. Even the committee chairman, Anthony Pondish was there and on time for a change. No there were few citizens in the public session. Just the reporter, Tom Shober and me. Contrary to the Times News I was not barred ffrom attendance but I did bring my election certificate and a note from my wife. My mother died years ago or I would have asked her to write the note.

How is paying 15% MORE coming out ahead? Fuzzy math again. Hunsicker's comment may be truer than he thinks. You got that right, but just imagine without the gambling money. They couln't afford the middle school and it should have never been built.

Hear that Mark? Want to make some big money? Think about it.

I've just learned about blogging, but notice, I'm not hiding my identity. As to having to cut our throats because of the 15% tax increase, it's not necessary. All we have to do is cut the bloated payrole. For the last ten years we hired people we did not need and many at excessive salaries. When the hirees could not do their job, PV hired assistants to the assistant. I may have been put in the corner with a dunce hat on, but I still enjoy freedom of speech, and now, not just AYO, but Morning Call blogging. You got it Mickey. The assistants should go! That is a MAJOR problem. The biggest part of the budget is salaries and benefits. Thanks for keeping an eye on the taxpayers AND all you do for the kids! YOU ROCK!

What good is trying to trace an IP address for somebody posting from a WiFi hot Spot? I'm sure Mark in the dark is well aware of who posted it, since the same person filed a complaint with the FCC about Elephant ears and some preplanned questions on the publicly air your flatulence show. By the way, for it to a slanderous remark, it would have to libelous, defamatory, argot, insulting, malicious, or disparaging, I don’t think any of the comments made, fit in to any of those categories, besides this is an opinion forum.

This blog is from the computer student who is just learning about blogs. One regular blogger says I have blogged under other than my own name. He knows from my IP address. Help! I don't know what an IP is. I've posted from three different locations. One was a business location where they rent use of computers and they were teaching me blogging. I then tried at a second location but I failed. I then wrote an item which I had a friend type and post for me. Now I am at a third location where I think I can do it on my own. Am I responsible for anthing posted from any of these locations? Can someone post and use my name as the blogger?

The IP address is the identifying number that your ISP (internet service provider) gives your current session, of log in, to be able to determine where your request is coming from and where to return the data. Think of it as a dealer tag, each ISP is issued so many numbers, just the like the dealer has so many dealer tags. Since the ISP has to pay for each one of these numbers, they don't want to buy one for each of their customers, but they need enough for each customer that will be online at one time. Sort of like the dealer needs enough tags for each car that will out of the dealership at one time. Topix also send a cookie (a small file) to your computer, when you post to their web site the first time, this helps them identify users, that switch names and helps them tell you if something new has been posted in one of the threads you posted in. As far as can are you responsible for other posts that can from the same IP address as you posted from, that would be a mater of interpretation, as long as it wasn't threatening or offensive, Topix normally will not bother with it. If too many of your posts are reported, they might try banning you, by the identifying cookie on the computer, of course if you were savvy enough, you'd know how to get rid of the cookie, or if you used a different computer, you could still post. Anybody could use your name and blog under it. If you truly want to make people know that its you, become a registered user. Even though somebody could blog using your name, it would show up as a registered user and most people would realize, it wasn't you. By the way even I'd very seldom agree with you, having you on here allows a true debate, of your statements, unlike when you to on the radio or speak up at the board meetings.
