it was on the scanner that they found evidence that it was definitely set on purpose on bakeover..in fact since accidently flung cigarettes dont make it to the middle of the woods and fires just dont start themselves well then someone is getting their shits and giggles out of putting these poor fireman in danger...hopefully they catch the SOB i know ill be keeping my eyes peeled

I'd like more information on the fires that have just broken out - how many acres and such so far, and if they are responding to them...

Ive got a perfect view from my back yard of the mountain, you can see smoke in several areas on the mountain, weve heard fire sirens all day! Generally they are pretty good about getting these fires out quickly, team work from many fire companies! Smokey the Bear was the first to spot the fire!

These fires has nothing to do with cigarettes Miss Politcally Correct. In fact one was started by a train, I guess people need to stop using trains huh. You're a real handjob.

Maybe not 'these' but others are. Ask anyone who works the fire departments! In dry conditions, cigarette butts are one of the top causes for brush fires.

'Politcally' correct huh? Here's some recent links:

<excerpt)
Mr. Cane, the state fire official, said fires were frequently caused by discarded cigarettes, by sparks thrown from train brakes or by hot metal parts of cars and trains touching dry brush beside roads and railroad tracks.

After a hectic weekend of fire calls fueled by Sunday's gusty winds and low humidity, firefighters were called out to another brush fire in the 1100 block of Portsmouth Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. Monday. The fire, started accidentally by a passerby who dropped a cigarette, quickly spread over three acres, coming close to the boundaries of Nansemond Square Apartments and Lester Brothers Automotive.

<excerpt>
The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Department responded to four brush fires Sunday within a three-hour period, and one more Monday morning.

Lit cigarettes tossed out car windows or dropped by pedestrians on dry grass or brush often are the cause of these blazes, said Kim Matz, public information officer for the department.

I rest my case.
