Girl Dies After Fall From Ferris Wheel

Schools should not be taking children on class trips to amusement parks. There are not enough adults or chaperones to watch all of the children. I cannot believe that a school would even consider taking children on this kind of school trip. Especially young children as these were. I'm not saying this tradedy was the schools fault, but they should seriously reconsider where they are taking other peoples kids, parent signed permission slips or not. I as a parent will be more selective and aware of my childs school trips in the future because of this. May this poor girl rest in peace. My thoughts are with her family and the many other kids who were witness to this horrific event.

Sad to hear this happen. I work in a school and I can tell you that kids play around especially when with others and this might be what happened. Before everyone goes off on this comment, I said might. It is a shame that you go out for a class trip not to return. Chaperones cannot be in the same seat as each child to watch so perhaps students should be restricted to what they can and cannot go on when without their parent. However, I think if they were with their parent this could also have happened. Kids don't realize (again if this is the case) how dangerous it can be. It doesn't state what school system they are from. Wildwood had never had issues like this.
