Whether she acted under threat or not, she is an adult and old enough to know that she should have gone to the authorities right away. She has a black cloud hanging over her and if she is lucky enough to get out of this jam, she will live with this the rest of her life.
I empathize with her family, having to live this and now to possibly be the sole caregivers for those babies that have no idea or understand the circumstance surrounding their own mother. How sad, for those children will have to live with their mothers excuse and remember her behind bars. Was it worth possibly 40 yrs of your life? and to miss your own children growing up?
