Trial date could be set for woman accused of leaving dog to die

Well we wouldnt want to violate her rights! mabey take her to a pen with a bunch of pit bulls that havent eaten for a few days.

Shame on them for downgrading the charge. Based on everything I have heard and read, she knowingly left her dog there to die. How hard would it have been to take the dog to a shelter?

Instead of time in prison, let her serve her sentence the same way she treated her dog.... locked in a crate, with no food or water, with a fully stocked refrigerator just feet away from her.

Let's see how she deals with it.

In this case, it really is sad we can't treat her like she treated her dog.

My dog has us trained to do his bidding...I want his life next time.

Why? Like you said, it's her dog, you know, her property. If she did this to YOUR dog, then charges would be warranted.

If you believe this should be illegal, then you must think a dog, cat, cow, horse, etc. is intelligent life. If you feel this way, then enslaving them to be your "pet" or food should be illegal as you can't own other intelligent life such as humans.

I hope that scumbag at least gets that year in the slammer and $l,000 fine. It's too bad they can't throw the book at her. This was no mentally disabled person who did this. Imagine how much suffering that beautiful dog endured.

Ridiculous, I agree with you. As intelligent beaings, we have a responsibility to the animals we choose to put under our care. She could have easily asked a neighbor to feed the dog or taken the dog to the human society. She chose to allow this animal that was under her care to suffer.

I was at the hearing and overheard the defense attny speaking with Abrams.

The defense attny wants to suppress some evidence. I don't know which evidence. The defense attny indicated that if the judge does not grant the suppression he will try to get the case moved out of Brevard County. He mentioned Jacksonville, Daytona, anywhere north. I believe he said he did not want to take the case south of Brevard.

I overheard this, this is not a quote, but he said something the effect of he felt the Judge has been pressured too much by the public and if she (the judge) doesn't suppress the evidence it will be / it will show (something like that) that she can not be fair in this case.

NO! NO PLEA DEAL! She should do the time - with water and food stored just beyond her cell for the duration of her sentence.

Unfortunately I think this gal is a stero typical sociopath. When she was first arrested she acted like there was nothing wrong with what she did. When she first got the dog neighbors said she took good care of it ... played and walked it. It was a need she had AT THE TIME to own the dog. When it was no longer a need and became a burden, she left it to die, instead of taking it to a dog rescue or SPCA. That's why the likes of Scott and Drew Peterson find its better to just kill the person instead of divorcing them ... they don't see the wrong in it ... they just want to burden to go away. Needless to say, I wouldn't want to date or marry her!

Yes it is her property, but that does not give her the right to mistreat the dog. He just wanted love with his food and water. I'm sure she loved him and fed him when he was a puppy. The bottom line is People take on baby pets as they are sooo cute and then when the pets grow into adulthood they don't think they deserve to be loved of fed and watered any longer...hmmmm just like some people treat each other. It is no wonder society is so screwed up. Keep the trial in Brevard County and let her suffer like the dog did.

Was something on the news a few minutes ago, the defense has dropped the attempted plea deal because they've been notified of new charges against her.

how could anyone be so cold hearted to do this all my animals cat or dog in my home are treated like a member of the family . It makes me sick to see her getting off so easy i say we lock her in a cage next to food and water and let her rott. If you couldnt keep the dog there you should have made other plans i wont even leave my pets when hurricanes come becasue i know what could happen without me to take care of them and i love them unconditionally the same way they love me. For shame maybe the state doesnt see fit to punish you properly but you will have to answer to a higher power one day for your deeds.
