Rinni it is not a right it is a responsibility. If you take time to read ezk 33 in the old testiment and matt 28 in the new. You will see that if the bible is true. Then we are commanded to share the good news of the gospel to all nations and to all mankind. How is right for you to know the dam is not going to hold and not warn the people in the town below the dam. To have such knowledge and be to lazy, uncaring or just down right evil to tell the imperiled unsuspecting people is not only wrong it is almost criminal.
Scott, two points you made above really lifted my spirit.

Good news. I did a word search not long ago and found a dictionary that defined the word "good" with "one" word that word was "God" the scripture says that "there is none good but God".

The word search also revealed to me that the word "Gospel" is defined with the word "truth".

The two points good news and gospel together means "Gods truth". It just goes to show that even in the little things, what a person says is important.

Hey trucker for me as well. Many many times i use the things you and john 316, keepnreal and others say and it re energizes me all over again. The Spirit and living water that comes from ya'll is refreshing to me. I literally feel like i can beat goliath all over again. He beat him with five smooth stones and a sword. Ya'll are the stones. The Word of God is the sword. You guys are the best. And dearly loved and cherished by me.

I actually love those who oppose the Way right now. I know that they would think that real weird. But God loves them and when you get anywhere near him his love wears off on you.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

<quoted text>
You are right to a point that no one can tell you how to live.
Thing is, Jesus told his disciples to go out and teach and preach to (this is the key point) "all that will hear" Matthew chapter 10. Now no one can "make" you accept that God is real, that is for you to decide. It is a God given right to accept God or not. Remember the key point, "to all that will hear".
A person that wants to live for and do Gods will is compelled by the word to at least "try" to bring others to Christ. Then if those people still reject what is being said then that person is allowed by the scripture to forget you and allow God to do the rest. Matthew 10:12-13-14-15.
God could make you serve Him if he wanted to but God wants a person to serve Him because "they" want to not because they are made to do so.
Now you see it is not because any one wants to make you serve God, it is that God has given the Christian a sneak peek at what is to come, and we just don't want you to suffer what "will" come to you if you don't serve God. Its kind of like getting a speeding ticket, don't speed, no ticket, speed get a ticket and pay the price.
You can agree with me or not I have done my part I am now relieved of you by Gods word Matthew 10:14.
thanks for sharing this.

I don't think the absence of bible study in schools is what is responsible for the behavior of these kids today. It is a lack of personal responsibility and discipline from there parents.
i agree, to an extent. however, sometimes no matter how much a child is taught right from wrong from their parent(s), when he/she is old enough to start making up their own minds, all the good parental teachings usually go out the window. children now days are so influenced by others, they feel their parents' are the ones who need help.

Kids are eventually going to think their parents are stupid or have no idea what they're going through, but if you did your job as a parent, then you're kids will know right from wrong, and even though they'll screw up from time to time, they will know better than to be disrespectful to their teachers or just being an all around thug.

true. my parents raised me to know right from wrong. they weren't hard on me, but they told me enough to where it bothered my conscience if i chose to go against what they told me. however, this is the 21st century and some kids these days don't care to listen to any type authority figure, parents included.

Ephesians 6: 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother" —which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Can someone please tell me where "hell" is mentioned in the Bible? The concept of "hell" is a creation of the Roman Catholic church as a scare tactic and has no basis in the Bible.
Mike,
Please refer to Matthew 10:28, James 3:6, II Peter 2:4 for references to Hell. Hades is also a synonym for hell in scripture. I refer you to Revelation 1:18. There are lots more.
The bible is the word of God, Mike. Believe it.

School systems across the nation (especially in the south) are in serious trouble, kids are failing or graduating barely being able to read. We as a nation are falling behind in math and science to the rest of the world. Yet politicians seem to think bringing religion in the class is going to fix all of that. Guess what? It won't! I am not slamming anyone's beliefs; a belief system of any kind can have great benefits in the home. Georgia has a serious education problem, yet our politicians play on your emotions rather than real solutions. Additionally, if we bring one religion into the class, that opens the door for all religions. Where would we draw the line? What if Satan worshipers demanded their "fair time" in the classroom? If you want religion in the classroom then enroll your kids in a private school.
Please leave me out of the schools, as the schools are for teaching academics, not religious ideology.
Thank you for complying with my direction from God.

...and sometimes they are right! I am middle aged, and my generation has made some of the worst parents, worst teachers, worst leaders, and worst examples!

That's where our young people have learned how to live! Duh!

..... oh I forgot. My generation has also made some of the worse Christians.

I became a Christian as an adult almost 20 years ago. I have been a member of 5 different churches since then. My spouse was on staff at all 5. So I do have some "inside" knowledge.

We left 3 of these churches due to bad leadership where those in charge were not honoring God and were acting like "THE WORLD".

We left that church due to wanting to make a geographical move out of a big city. That senior pastor was a TRUE CHRISTIAN!

The second church we left was the result of the senior pastor's problem with "Greed". It's a long story but that was the bottom line.

The third church we left was the result of our Senior Pastor and his spouses's serious problem with "chronic gossip". They insisted on gossiping behind the backs of members of the church and others in the community. This behavior appeared to be rooted in low self-esteem. But it was painful to watch. Needless to way, we left that church. It too is a long story, but that is the bottom line.

The fourth church had a wonderful pastor of whom was also a TRUE CHRISTIAN like the pastor in my first church. But the senior pastor left due to the consequences of a divisive and self-serving elder and a few of his old friends that seemed to want n no changes in the church that would result in growth. They appeared to just want their social club. After seeing what this elder did to a very good senior pastor, my spouse quickly accepted an offer to work in another church. We moved out of state to the new church.

The fifth church had a senior pastor that appeared to struggle with low self-esteem and jealousy issues. I think he did too much "comparing" of himself with others on his staff. Insecure leaders do not like to have staff members that have strengths they do not. Especially when the strengths of their staff members are multiple strengths that expose their multiple weaknesses.

Needless to say my spouse was fired without warning by the senior pastor of this church for no legitimate reason. My Spouse received a 4 month severance package where he was required to sign a gag order to receive his pay for the four upcoming months. The gag order was to ensure that me or my spouse did not say a word to anyone, and to leave the church quietly. In other words, the church's money was used to bribe us to remain silent on what the senior pastor had done to us.

In the following weeks and months, the senior pastor allowed the people in the church to believe whatever they wanted to believe about my spouse's departure because the senior pastor never announced to the church that my spouse would no longer be working there. We were basically just ordered by the senior pastor to leave town and go back to where we came from.

God as my witness, my spouse had done nothing to merit the senior pastor firing him from what I could see. It clearly appeared to be a jealously issue based on some things we had observed. And in hindsight, some questions we had about the senior pastor's behavior during those few short months were answered. Hindsight is 20/20.

Before we left town, some of the members of the congregation called on us and was wondering what had happened. They wanted answers as to why my spouse had left. When my spouse couldn't tell them, they asked if there was some kind of moral failing. There was no morale failing, and the senior pastor later gave my spouse an excellent reference.

This was consistent with the fact that my spouse has never had any morale failings as a Christian leader and is one of the most honest and Christ-like people I know.

From my viewpoint, it appeared my spouse's downfall in that church was the senior pastor being jealous of and threatened by his popularity among the people.

Many churches and other institutions today are in trouble due to petty problems such as this. People need to grow up, especially leaders. Then perhaps the children will follow.
