Omg, yeah! It's still standing! I went there from K-6 then they opened the Bell Middle School! I do believe at one point it was called Harmony Heights, I remember running track as a Harmony Hornet in 86-87!!! If u went there till second grade, not 2 b nosey I'm 32 how old r u, we could've went there together who knows! I remember having a friend name Cloe and it broke my heart, when she moved, we were in second grade! Everything looks the same, the play ground, the awards ampatheater! I can't believe it's still standing! I drive by there sometimes and I would LOVE 2 go in and look around, It looks sooooo tiny now! lol I'm very sentimental about things, my son just started going 2 school my old middle school, it's like walking into a time warp 4 me, it's pretty cool! Let me know if we could've attended together!!!

That is crazy. I would love to see that place. What I remember most is the school name was in big letters across the top of the building. I am 31. I dont remember many people's names, I will have to break out the old year book at home. I had some friends named monica,Leah, and Amber Williams but I dont remember all their last names. My dad went to Clear Creek Seminary,so when he finished, we moved. I would love to go through the halls and rooms. I remember my Kindergarden teacher was Mr. Miracle. Do you remember him? I believe the first grade teacher was Ms.Fee. OMG, I forgot all about the awards amatheater. That is crazy. Do you remember that the prinicple and his wife both worked there? I cant remember their names either. Remember floride breaks in the bathroom? and the trips we would take through the woods that would classify as "field trips". When did they close the school and do you know why? Thanks for responding!

OMG!!! Lmao, I have 2 know u, I boo boo'd early my friends name was Cleo not Cloe, sorry! Mr. Don Miracle, that's soooo funny he was my Kindergarten teacher too! He was sooo hateful, lol, Mrs. Taylor was my 1st grade, Ms. Fee was my 2nd grade, and Now I'm gonna have 2 dig out my yearbooks cause I can't remember who my 3rd grade teacher was, lol! Mrs. Mills was my 4th, Mrs. Collett was my 5th and Mrs. Carnes was my 6th! YUP and MR. Goodin was the principle and his wife Mrs. Goodin was a 2nd grade teacher!!! And the trips through the woods 2 the Clear Creek Bible college! It was cool I'm an outdoorsy lady! The big letters r still there! Do u remember Mrs. Howard the librarian? She would get mad and jump up and down! The field looks sooooo downsized since I've grown up, it all looks sooooo tiny now! It is pretty cool! It's sooooo funny that when I got 2 Bell Middle my 7th grade year, just guess who 1 of the math teachers was??? lol Don Miracle, but, I didn't have him, YEEEAAA! Do u remember the fenced in walk way around the library, we used it 2 go 2 recess, and the 2 trees by the ball court that had big rocks around them with the roots sticking up, we used to try 2 walk around them without falling off!!! There is still someone that lives in the little bus house out back, I've often thought about asking 2 go in, but I don't know who they r, and I'm not sure they would b permitted to let anyone enter inside the school! But, it's still so cool to go by and check it out once in a while!

Wow, you have seriously brought back the memories. First of all that librarian, you are so right. She was crazy, do you remember the song that she would make us sing before we could do anything in there? I just remember it ended with now lay your hands in your lap. Yes, Mr Miracle was so mean. He was going to whip me once for running around the room while he was out, but thankfully my mom showed up just in time to save me. To this day I think he was pissed that he didnt get to crack the whip on me. Man, you have a good memory, I had the teachers mixed up a little, I forgot about Ms. Taylor being the first grade teacher. Yes, I do remember the fenced in walk way that we had to go through to recess. That is crazy! So many memories. Another thing I remember and I guess it depends where you lived, but I remember riding the school bus and right before you got to the school there was a massive hill or at least it seemed massive back then and a really sharp turn to make. How time flies. I miss that little place. Do you remember something about a Harmony cheer? There might not be such a thing but for some reason I keep thinking there was a cheer something silly like 'we are going to bust your britches when you jam with us'. That sounds crazy.

Lmao, I remembered my 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Harris, she retired after I had her! I am my friend's walking phonebook and memorabilia log, lol! I don't forget much, I got my first paddling by Don Miracle, he got me twice in kindergarten. He went out of the room and we were supposed 2 b at nap time, some of the kids were running around the room and the whole class got a whipping but 3! Jamie Cox, Tawanna Brock, and Terry Clower were the only 3, 2 escape the wrath of the paddle, lol! I got my 2nd one for beating up 3 boy's, they would run up and pull my hair then run away, well, I got them all back in the same day! Denny Hensley, Will Maxwell, and Jeremy Ables! And I got in trouble, What's up with that? I was a tomboy so I was used 2 fighting with my cousin, lol! Oh those were the days! Do u remember the end of the school year, if u had perfect attendance, u got 2 have a whole free day of recess outside, they cooked hot dogs and had games! My initials r C.B. If u look in your yearbook u should find me!!! The BIG hill is still there, u remembered well. It curves 2 the right as u go up the hill 2 the school. Do u have family around here? U should come down and stay at the Pine Mountain State Lodge 1 night and drive by the school and check it out! Before they do tear it down, I don't know when that will b! I would love 2 go back in one more time, do u remember the water fountains smelled like eggs? lol, I had forgot about that nasty red rinse we used!

I cant find my kindergarden yearbook!!!! I am bummed. I have my first grade yearbook but my favorite was my kindergarden because it was the oldest. Early in the summer I cleaned out my attic. I took a pile to goodwill and I threw a pile in the trash. I also brought some of my old yearbooks down out of the attic to go through, which I do every 5 or so years. I left out my Kindergarden yearbook because I wanted more time to go through it.(by the way, I graduated in 96', my kindergarden yearbook was brown and woodsy not green, so you are one year ahead of me.) Anyway, I went to the attic today to look for you and now I cant find it anywhere. I have looked the house over and I called Goodwill to see if I took it there by mistake. NO LUCK! I am so upset with myself because I love my yearbooks, I get very sentimental over them. I always take very good care of them. Now I have lost my favorite one. It makes me more sad because I know my parents didnt have much money at that time so that yearbook didnt come easy. Do you know if the library in Bell Co. has old copies of yearbooks that they might sell. Oh well, at least I have my first grade yearbook. I found you!!! You are in second grade and I think you were the first picture. I have seen your picture a thousand times. I always thought you had such pretty hair. I am on the opposite page as you. My initals are H.L. However, I didnt notice if I was the only one with those initals. I think I am in the first roll. Your memories crack me up. Seriously, if you had not mentioned the water fountains smelling like eggs, I would never have ever thought of that. Seems like the lunch room had a distincive smell to it too. OMG, I had completely forgot about the perfect attendence deal. I cant remember if I ever got that but I remember wanting it bad. Did you know Ritchie Haliburton? He would have been two years behind you. He was my first boyfriend. That sounds so crazy. He turned on me though and stole my t-ball glove. I saw your friend Cleo. I am enjoying your great memory. I never kept in touch with any of my friends from that school, even though I swore I would. I guess in the second grade you think you will always see your friends again someday.

Now I'll have 2 look u up, I know which book it is, The cafeteria!!! Do u remember how the lunch tables folded out of the wall??? And they would show movies at christmas time in the there! And then they would give us all a little bag of fruit and candy canes before christmas break! Yeah, things change so fast, u grow up and people move away, it's not easy 2 keep in touch with everyone! Do u remember when u enter the lunchroom u would turn left and then right, in like a U shape the food was on ur left and the milk cooler was on ur right, or directly behind u when u r picking up ur tray! Then when u emptied ur tray there was always someone in the back with that huge sprayer! lol crazy thing 2 remember, it seemed so big then, but, the more I think about it, it's not really big at all. I guess that's what happens when u see things through a childs eye's! I so miss those days of innocence! That's what Harmony is 2 me, my worry free days!

Yes, I remember those things except the tables folding out from the wall. I guess in the 2nd grade I thought that was normal. I agree with you on Harmony being the care free days, all my family members were alive then, it was a different time. Do you think I would have any luck if I called the Bell co library to see if they have any old yearbooks. Is it a shot in the dark? I am still pissed at myself for losing the kindergarden yearbook. grrr

Thanks everyone for blogging this! I think I'm much older than you, but my teachers were Mrs. Harris (1st); Mrs. Goodin (2nd); Mrs. Knuckles (3rd); Mrs. Walton (4th); Mrs. Shelton/Mills (5th); Mrs. Cornett (6th). At that time, the school went to the 8th grade. I moved in mid-sixth grade. But, the 7th grade teacher and basketball coach was Mr. Bingham. Eighth grade teacher was Mrs. Slusher.

Some of my best memories were from 4-H activities and the Christmas goodie bag. I also loved the concession stand we had out back of the school. I got a Coke and penny chocolate candy every day. Worst was the water at school, the smelly bathrooms, and the monthly flouride treatments we got.(I'm 43, so this would have been in the mid-70s.

Mrs. Howard was indeed the librarian. I don't recall her being nutty then. I loved her because she got me into reading the Little House books and she let me advance the slide or film projector a lot.

I just went by the old school building yesterday and it was sad. It is falling down mostly gutted. Like you, I attended Harmony from 1973-1977 when my Dad was at Clear Creek. It sounds like I had the exact same teachers you did though you may have been a hear behind me. I was wondering when the school closed myself but I have no clue. I do remember the nasty sulfur water at the school. It took me a year to get used to that stuff and fortunately I only went there for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. It was still a nice school and I have some good memories of teachers and students alike.
