As a victim of the Baltimore Examiner in Howard County, I had to sue the paper (they settled) to get them to stop trashing my property after they ignored six requests to stop. Their papers accumulate on driveways, signaling when residents are not home and creating a mess in general. They claim it is a first amendment issue but it is not. It is a safety and health issue. County governments should stop letting their constituents be victimized by ad rags like the Examiner. No one is infringing on their right to distribute. But the rights of the public to have them stop when asked should also be respected.

Ihave a home with a driveway to the garage, and a driveway on the opposite side of the house. The examiner was delivered to both driveways, although it's obvious that it's one house. When I decided to stop delivery of the Examiner,I contacted them and the paper delivery was stopped within a few days. Now if I could only stop the advertising mail that's addressed to "occupant".

everyone is so blind to the concept it's not funny.everyone in this newspaper makes healthy money except the carrier who has to pay $4/gallon for gas. do you think a carrier is going to deliver 98% accuracy and make very little money. the gps systems in each carriers vehicle only determines the streets they are going down, not how many papers are being tossed out the window. check the recyling bins and you will see what i am talking about. even though i have never thrown the newspaper, i would reccomend all carriers who think about being an independent contractor not to deliver the examiner. for example, the 2 days of delivery each carrier will do soon, in order to make $300/week, they have to throw 6000 papers plus handle an advertising supplement. this will take approximately 16 hours to accomplish plus the cost of gas. you might as well say they are working for free.
