Schools address black students' suspensions

More proof that LIBERALS are so open minded that their brains have fallen out!

I work at a school that had 4 fires in 4 days. All of these fires were set by students in a 98% black school. I have no reason to believe that any educator & makes suspension decisions based on any other decision but repeated inappropriate behaviors by a small minority of students. The behaviors and disrespect of some of the students in the schools is much like that of prison detainees. In many instances, students ignore or are insubordinate to the request of the adults, teachers and administrators in the building. Students defy adults like they are being paid to do it. As you've seen students refuse even the most reasonable request such as go to class, remove headphones, hats, stop cursing, etc. Students call administrators names right in front of their parents who do nothing, Could it be that the same individuals who were dropouts and delinquents 15 years or so ago have now had childrend who they defend in foolish and nonsensical behaviors. I think so. With all that Dr. Alonzo has shared about great schools and great kids. He has been short on solutions and or substantive ideas that schools can introduce and bring about behavavioral changes. Pehaps this is because Dr. Alonzo in all of his wisdom has never been a principal.

There is a story abouy a coach who brought a gun on the field at a football game. Wonder if he was suspended while he was in school. Judge gave him six years. That judge didn't understand his expressions and couldn't relate to his social history.

I’ll take that bet!! As a teacher and now a sub I have seen what is going on in schools. I usually do special ed but decided to help out my sons school with on class that they could not get a long term sub to stay in longer then a week. I quite after 3 days. The behavior was out of control in some students. You would write them up for suspension and nothing would happen. I had one girl call me a ‘Dumb A$$” 5 x and told me to drop the” Fu@&ing sweet talk”. The other kids saw this girl get away with this behavior as there was no one to take her to chill out and the next day she was back inschool. The other kids then acted up. This girl and some of her friends need to be expelled. Did that happen no but 2 white kids who got written up by me were suspended. Did the girl who needed to leave the school get suspended oh no we can’t do that because she’s black. There was an article in our local paper about high suspensions for black students and admin told the schools to cut back on suspensions.Who do you think is going to finish school and have the appropriate behavior not to get fired from school. That would be the two white kids not the girl who cursed me out. School officials are failing this girl all in the name of not appearing racist.

Then again, the fact that a teacher writes such an incoherent, rambling, grammatically atrocious tirade like this doesn't speak well for teachers either. Blind leading the blind in this case, it seems.

Education is viewed as a right and not privilege and this is a key element in the ongoing behavior issue.

Drugs are the known fact and perception of black kids and a trickle down effect. No one is fooled. They fall down in class or come in smelling of booze. Let God be the judge. Dumb Arses, I hope you did not pay for that degree. Get the F out of class. The idea of paying these fools to even get good grades is a joke. Pay the graduate with a real job and scholorship. The society real black trash are a waste of everyones taxes. It only takes one good parent and one good child to make a difference.

Class and race is always an issue. Lower the issues and that will teach them all. The black kids wants attention they do not get from home. Well, thats because you are society rejects known for years and made your own beds or had your Momma do it for you. Statistics show if you can not think on your own, you loose. Living in fear of your class mates is like not living at all. Blacks will not rule the universe or become president in my life time or yours. Its like a bad Super Bowl, predictable as the playoffs. Whites have a higher IQ and common sense, respect for the law, and will always succeed at survival of the fittest.

Best example of those that cannot think for themselves are gangs. Shot caller calls shots and these stupid scum bags do it. But as far as surival of the fittest, no matter how fit you are or how smart you are, when you have scum shooting up your nieghborhood it doesn't make a difference. How many times have you heard, this used to be a nice white nieghbohood. There are many being chased out of thier nieghborhoods, hard working people of all races.

The issue under discussion is what do we do about the behaviors of students in our schools? My take on this discussion is that we do not limit it to blacks, but to students. As the culture of the schools allow the students to get away from the behaviors that society considers the norm, we get away from teaching our students the things they need to succeed.

The tie in is that the "pass 'em through" for the sake of statistical & political cover is a policy indicative of the system that validates a problem student's complete lack of Accountability, Consequences and Ownership of their decisions. Behaviorally and academically there are no repercussions that are strong enough to motivate a change in behavior from negative to positive. To the contrary, the "I'm gonna show authority that they aren't the boss of me" 'tude is seen as cool and behaving students as chumps and slaves to the system. These things are intertwined and build upon each other to degrade the learning environment to the point we are at now. Touchy-feely doesn't work w/ ingrained defiance. Private and parochial schools work through structure. Structure works from adherence to rules. Rules work by maintaining consequences. Praise and rewards motivate the student and validate their belief in themselves doing the right thing. In THAT framework, the touchy-feely "stuff" can be effective vs. the chaotic state of schools pandering to the victimizers.

My mother, a teacher of 30 years, would kick a kid out of class then announce a pop quiz as they left the room. If you weren't there, no points. Not too many kids got kicked out, because they knew it was a risk.
When you coddle a kid, or expect less of them, less is ALWAYS what you'll get.

The first three from a white engineering school and the last three from a white Ivy-League school. I was there, and I know the history of both institutions. I earned my way in there by beating white students at white schools, on white tests, and in the white classroom. How about you?

When my husband (I'm a female, a$$hole) was at a black school (Morgan State) there were more whites in his Masters program than Blacks. Guess what? ALL the white students were receiving federal scholarships to attend this Black university while ALL the Black students were required to pay tuition. I'm sure that's what LBJ had in mind. Pull you head out of your butt and do some research before spouting off. Keep thinking you are the authority on everything, but try not to get shot.

I don’t make excuses for Black youth but I also don’t bend over for white people. I don’t assume white competence because I know better. I’ve spent enough time in international settings to know that stupidity knows no color, gender, ethnicity, religion, or geography. You want our children to behave -- white adults need to do the same.

Heck, I might even encourage more Black youth to act out simply because I am sick of apologist who refuse to accept white complicity in Baltimore's fate.

Ever stop to think that Black children refuse to accept white authority, which includes authority from Blacks who are simply implementing the defective system they inherited from whites, simply because Black children don't want to be ruled by white people, their Black agents, or their white system?

Ever think that if white people actually took responsibility for their own actions, that Black people might consider doing the same?

How many Black people have stolen billions of dollars? When Blacks start stealing billions, creating weapons of mass destruction, committing genocide and rewriting history, what are you white people going to do then?

C'mon Black people. We want equality. Let's start building weapons of mass destruction. Let's become serial killers and mass murderers. Then perhaps white people won't fear us as much because we'll be JUST LIKE THEM.
