Chief Longo stated, "We need to get beyond the conversation stage as a community. We've been dealing with it in law enforcement for a long time, but we need to do a community collaboration with the prevention and the education strategies."

Chief Sellers said, "Get more people involved at the front end of this issue, that's the prevention end, and get the community engaged on the front end of that piece."

I'm sure the black pastors, black community and the local NAACP will step right up to help y'all.

They have always talked, they continue to talk and they will keep on talking. Writing traffic tickets brings in more money than fighting crime, its safer to boot. The last thing these guys want to do is go after real criminals who have guns. Call em what you want.

Right you are! Longo ain't gonna let any of the city cops do what needs to be done cause he don't want to get sued ( looks bad on his resume')! Lets keep Longo's face shinning and keep talking.

As long as it is done legally and respectfully and constitutionally.

I wonder what kind of conversations take place between Longo and city so called leaders? Gee chief, hows crime going in town? What crime? There's no crime allowed in Charlottesville. No drugs, no rapes, no muggings, no officers committing crimes, OOPs, well maybe a little of that. Well chief, we can't have any cops committing crimes. Oh, thats OK, I just slap their wrist and act like nothing happened. Good chief, keep up the good work. Ignorance on the public's behalf is a good thing.
