sometimes I get this continous beeps from my HP Pavillion dv6054, and the only way I could stop it is to take out the battery.

Since I have had the notebook this has happened maybe 6-8 times. What is strange is that a couple of times, this happens even when the notebook is completly shut off, with no power connection. So, now when I have to leave for a vocation, I have to take off the battery just to make sure this does not beep while I am away.

What could be the problem

I am having the exact same problem with my dv 6060, and now it has gone completely down. When I turn it on, I only get one long beep and two short ones. And a black screen.....
In addition to this problem, my wireless card has been disfunctional for very long.

I am having the very exact problem. It started with the wireless card. Now the computer just beeps 1 long - 2 short, and nothing happens.

Did anyone of you, with the black screen problem, figure out what the problem was? I am having the same problem since this monday. When I start my HP there is a long beep, 2 short beeps, pause 1 long beep, 2 short beeps. The screen is black during the whole startup (Windows does supringsingly start).

Same problem with mine, i looked for information on this topic, and found that it was video card error, which must be replaced, and the best bet is to give laptop for HP fix center, to fix this problem

Isn't there any way to replace the video card besides sending it to HP support, like changing it yourself? or is the video card intergrated with the motherboard?

Same problem here, started with sporadic wireless board-didn't-go-on and then the black screen at startup with beeps.

It sucks. The machine is but a few months old.

Same problem in Finland. First problem was that the wireless disapeared, occasinally it have appeared and worked, but lost after shut down. I decided to ignore this as I afraid HP would reinstall everything if fixed. Next problem was that the electric wire broke.Happily I contacted HP and they send a new one. Unfortunately this took over 2 weeks.Unhappily today I got the very same black screen problem (1long, 2short beeps). First the computer worked fine, but as I turned it on 2hours later worst happened.

I've just been on the phone with HP support and it seems that the only way to fix this problem is to replace the video card which means that the motherboard has to be replaced... it sucks but it's the only way.

My HP DV9225us has the same problem. Support told me to send it back for repair, but did not say what the problem is. Cripe!

I have hp pavilion dv 6000. First my wireless light turned amber, signal disappeared and later on I got power up problems. I started the notebook many times and black screen appeared with annoying beep sound, 1 long 2 short ones. Pain in something. I called hp support. On the phone I was told to reposition Ram memory stick, hard drive, remove and put back the battery. Nothing helped. Hp is going to fix that.

I have a hp pavilion dv6000 and I have the same beeping problem with the black screen on startup. I'm hoping theres another way to fix this issue since my warranty is up. =\

Same problem here. Bought this laptop in May this year. First wireless gone, now 3 beeps and a black screen. Very surprised HP is not doing anything proactively; very unHaPpy

I'm going to try to contact HP and get it fixed for free cause this is clearly their fault and not ours.

Exactly the same here: black screen, 1 long beep and 2 short beeps. System will start and I can log-in, but a black screen, so no visuals.

1 long beep, 2 short beeps indicates problems with video adapter. BUT I dont know if it means a hardware problem. Probably so.

Strange thing is, this issue first occured a week ago, then suddenly it worked again , then the problem came back, I was able to sometimes startup ... and now it wont startup at all, just black screen is all I see.(and 3 beeps , 1 long and 2 short at startup).

Is there anyone here who fixed this problem > and who can tell how it was fixed ? And what the exact cause was ?
