Bottom line is that taxpaying Americans MUST SLASH federal government, beginning with military, UN, Fed reserve, IRS, CIA, FBI, Federal Judges, Special Education, etc. We WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK AND NO IS NOT AN ANSWER!

Jerry's about to get a wake up and SLASH the budget call. Idiot is now trying to pull the tax and ballot card, after we've been there and done that several times! These idiot Marxist 'officials' just keep doing the same tax and waste schemes. If they don't waste our money outright, they waste our money by paying bureaucrats to initiate 'ballot' procedures! Dang!

I see no one addressed the problem which is corporations getting a free ride on the backs of the taxpayers. Sacrifice should be shared by all not just the middle and working class. The corporations should be paying their fair share if they want to do business in this country! No free rides for anyone!

That's not right. Since the Supreme Court gave corporations the same rights as people; let corporations pay the same taxes Corporate taxes were cut agagin and again; and loopholes and exemptions were granted to corporations that are unavailable to citizen taxpayers.

Corporations already paid their taxes. They bankroll the free ride of every politician into office to write bills that benefit them. Why would corporate America want to pay above that? Rhetorical. Cheers!

You are trying to reason with people who have the brains of egg plants. Fortunately for America, these mouthbreathers constitute a shrill thimbleful of our population.

No company in the US pays taxes. Only individuals pay taxes. When a company in the US submits taxation money to the US government, the company gets that money from indivuals. Thus people pay the so-called "business taxes", not businesses. I am a customer of the Bank of America, so I am pleased that I have to pay no additional taxes through them. So-called "business taxes" are just a dishonest and costly way for politicans to take more money from people without the people realizing that it is the government taking the money from them. When a business is taxed, the people have to pay those taxes plus the compliance costs of the company. In addition, companies often make poor decisions due to tax consequences. So our entire economy is continiously harmed by the use of "business taxes".

I'm a former government worker and say NO to union membership for all local, state and federal government workers. Government employees serve at the pleasure of the taxpayers, not the other way around. Most dues collected from government workers are funneled to politicians to buy their support. Its plain wrong. Of course too, I thinks it wrong that corporations are allowed to buy off politicians.

It's not like the old days where they gave you a toaster for opening an account with them. They're already charging you all sorts of charges and fees just to do business with them, and it's not like their hurting finacially anymore, unlike the middle-class. The reason they don't pay taxes is because of power, and they're only getting more. Be a man and stand up for yourself.

You can't prevent corporations from buying off politicians. So...back to square one.

These are two separate issues. The tax code is a miasma of arcane and inefficent formulas rife with unintended consequences. All those gas guzzling suv's that don't fit in the parking spots at the mkt are due to a light truck provision that allows even doctors and dentists to write off the whole value of mom's wagon. The greedy public unions that parasitically suck the life out of the country is an expense issue. The problem is that scheister lawyers make these regs to get more power, not to prudently steward the people's assets. It's our own fault. Most people I talk to are completely oblivious to this whole mess that our economic system has devolved into. They only care after the fact so they know who to blame, then they get back to the ballgame.

They are to big to fail, remember when W. had problems with the falling economy. They were twisting arms to get Country Wide and Merrill Lynch under that same umbrella. Now guess what Bank of America now ownes them, and they are to big to fail. Any talk about busting up the large banks is small talk, it will never happen, as there will always be a need to TARP the rich. And speaking of TARP we should add TAX to the seriono.

tidy catz wrote: <quoted text> You must have been sleeping while the biggest transfer of wealth in history occurred between 2002 and 2008. Transfer of wealth is a fallacy perpetuated by clueless liberals who can't balance a checkbook. Our economy is evolving at record pace. Industries have come and gone in years instead of decades. If CD manufacturers aren't making blu-ray right now, and are still making 5 1/4 floppy disks, there's no market for their product. The rich got richer in the last decade because oil prices were low, stock and real estate prices rose, and well educated motivated individuals demanded and got more money. The poor got poorer because the increase in low income aid, and greedy school unions turned out another generation of lazy good for nothings. I agree there are too many tax loopholes for john kerry and ted kennedy who pay no taxes. I could fix that tomorrow. Add a line to the bottom of every 1040 form that says "I'd like to pay this additional tax even though I don't owe anymore $_________" We could have matt damon and oprah hold a ceremony in hollywood honoring alec baldwin and barbara streisand after they put their money where their mouths are. This will never happen because liberals only like to tax other people's money.
