Isn't XM selling to Sirus?

Or is Sirus selling to XM? I don't remember either :(
As far as this story is concerned, the project is great...but what about other types of music? Jazz, Rock, Christian Pop, Rap, Hip Hop, Indie, Punk, Progressive Rock, Symphony...and yes ...Country... ... Its all here, folks. Nashville is called "MUSIC CITY". The key word is MUSIC! Nashville isn't JUST about country music. If you live here, you already know that. We ALL know that! Problem is, this news article doesn't show that fact. It 'pigeon holes' Nashville ( again)into one type of music and that will not bring more attention to the city, let alone all the other fine musicians that live here( Janis Ian, Donna Summer, Melanie Safka...just to name a few) How the ham sandwich will this XM project make Nashville and lower Broadway a "Time Square" if you won't include other genres? Or is this news story NOT 'complete'? Will this state of the art center be opened to other artist as well? Or will XM and 'country music' hoard it for the sake of "Country"? |

Sirus has bought XM the company name is now Sirus XM. The deal between the two was completed last month after they got the approval from the FCC.

Thanks. So it was Sirius XM that made this deal, not XM. I thought it was strange that a company was in the middle of a sale would start a new project like this.

The Sommett Center location is XM's country music headquarters. That is where they broadcast their country shows. Other genres are handled from other locations in the country. If acts, other than country, are playing at the Sommet Center, those artists will use the new facilities, but XM staff from D.C., LA or New York will do the interviews.

Why did they take WSIX 98 off their XM programming? I do not live near Tn. and loved listening to this station. I am thinking of discontinuing my XM contract.....

Any jobs in the glass tower that is Sommet?

p.s.- I live just outside Nashville, but not all the way to Knoxville!! Don't know why it posted like that.:(

XM should have kept WSIX. This Nashville channel is nothing more then recorded voice tracking, like the rest of xm's country channels, along with commercials. One would think since xm is a pay service they would try to do things better then regular radio, like HBO did for TV. XM went the other direction.

who cares about xm radio. We all want Jerry House and the House foundation back on wsix. What a low blow. I am NOT listening.
its best that i dont go to the sommet center no matter who is there
