Of course you should. The government needs to implement a law that forces unions such as this to listen to the membership through a democratic process such as a secret ballot vote.I don't want to see any other union body to have to endure the likes of what this union has had to because the president and the excutive seem to hold all the power.

If no vote is held, no matter how badly the offer may suck, the union looks bad in the public eye, most people will not notice items that members might have disliked.

The government needs to implement a law that makes union membership optional just as they have in many states in the US. It seems as though some unions are irresponsible and useless.

Of course we should! But Rolf will DICTATE that we will not! This man is a LUNATIC! Everyone Else thinks we should have a chance to vote as well but these fools (exec) will try to stop it every time. See how frustrated Jake was when he went on his rant about people requesting a vote? They know its the right thing to do but are terrified of the possible outcome.

Rolf and his buds will be down at the line all weekend and beyond especially if they are going to give the vote to the members. They will keep the members riled up and against US Steel they will reinforce the message of how bad this company is and what they can do to the worker so that the chance of a no vote is increased.Mind manipulation. All great dictators use this method only in some parts of the world it is used at the end of a gun barrel. Here that cannot happen so they must appear in person.

You do realize it is a BAD CONTRACT. Could the company have offered more? Of course. But the crap they handed you is their own game of mind manipulation.
If this contract goes to a vote, and is rejected by even a slim 52% margin, you just handed US Steel the ultimate excuse to shut it down for good, no questions asked.

I Still who heartedly believe a contract with an opportunity to become profitable is better than shutting down. Especially in these times.

They don't need an excuse to shut it down. They own the place they can shut it down when ever they please. If you don't vote they can still shut it down if that is there choice.Wake up this union cannot force this company to give you anything, you have no power especially in this economy. You have nothing to lose by voting.Although Rolf and his boys might say so,if it is accepted then it will look like you(his members) gave into the corporate capitalist and that is what Rolf is afraid of.It does not look good for the vice president of the Commmunist party of Canada (m-l) to allow his members to do this.He must fight corporate capitalist.Well I say to heck with his political policies we need my husbands income, and in a democratic society we give democratic secret ballots votes.Let the membership decide.

Well it looks like the only way to go out with pride is to shut the mill down permanently and move out west, but you'll probably all sit down to the nice shat sandwich and take a big bite.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
