The building formerly known as Sears Tower
Formerly known as the Sears Tower ; formally known as the Willis Tower; informally known as the "Big Willy." When Prince changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol, he was often referred to as "The artist formerly known as Prince." I suggest the same logic be utilized when referring to Chicago's most symbolic building.

Help fight back against the name change. One of the best ways is to make sure that the Wikipedia article (a widely read resource) continues to refer to the Sears Tower rather than the Willis Tower. To do so, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Willis_Towe... and then simply vote support in the discussion to move the page back to the proper name.

I don't think that changing Wikipedia to make it inaccurate is going to benefit anybody.
I'm against the name change just as much as anybody else, but the reality is that officially it is called Willis Tower. Two better ways to "fight back" are to sign the petition and to link to my Sears Tower fan site so that it stays in the top search results. http://www.searstower.org/ |
