We was told today by our manager that we could wear any color pants we want as long as they were not jeans and then have a choice between navy shirts including polo's and t-shirts. Does anyone else know anything about this? We was told it goes into affect April 2nd but will not be enforce until June 10th. That means we would not have to wear khaki which is all I had heard about until now.

Gee,...and this is Home Office policy? The only thing that seems to be consistant is the color of the shirt.

Here, they will provide two polo shirts, no logos, however, if we accept them, we have to pay the taxes on them. Otherwise, any Navy Blue shirt is fine.

As for pants...Light brown to Dark Brown, any material, as long as it is brown.

No blue jeans, and we get a one time allowance of $15.00 to help with a purchase of the pants.

All smocks are to be turned in for recycling, and if one wants to wear an apron, they must be signed out and turned in daily.

All new employees will have to provide thier own, no shirts or allowance for pants will be given, and all aprons have to be company issued.

Is that so? I hadn't heard that. I never really thought to ask.

Hi, I work in store0595 and I dont think the uniform idea is to bad. I just think that if they want to change policies they shouldnt be charging us for uniforms.maybe now with that extra money from employees they will get my fellow associates(cartpushers)their little machine to help them out"like in every other store I see"

Hi, This is the policy we were told.
Wal-mart will supply each employee with 2 shirts and an allowance of $15 for pants. The shirts and $15 will be put onto our check stubs as a bonus so it will be taxed. It is your option wether you want the shirts or pant money. we were told if we did not sign up for the items by the cut-off date then we would be out of luck.So I believe this is a one time shot to help with our transition into the new dress code. Our smocks will be turned in to be recycled. We were told any navy top as long as it doesn't have an insignia larger than our name badges and any form of khaki pant all the way up to dark brown. As long as it is in a brown form not green. Any shoes accept for open toe or open heel (no clogs) Capri pants are ok. I believe only Massachusetts stores will have the option to also wear dark green shirts. No facial piercings other than ears. I hope I helped with any questions.

O.k. here's the skinny on the new wal-mart clothing compliance ...
Associates: navy blue polo, or no collar
tan trousers (ranging from lite brown to lite tan.
Managers: same-to-same, with the exception of a royal blue to navy blue polo.
any more questions, ask your store manager.

The Wal-Mart associates at my local store have begun to wear the blue/khaki combo. As a customer, I noticed one thing: It's a LOT more difficult to figure out who the associates are. The blue vests were excellent identifiers that made the associates stand out from the general populous. And it was super easy to spot a manager with their red vest.

Now, the associates and managers all look like customers.

Bad move, guys.

Two shirts and a 15 dollar clothing allowance for khaki pants is a far cry from a Uniform Service that issues full-time employee 11 uniforms. Five to wear and turn in at the end of the week, five clean ones delivered and one extra in case of repairs/replacements.
I can understand a company wanting employees to look the part and become visually team oriented, but it seems that the company wants employees to take on most of the costs.
What are employees going to do with only two shirts and a pair of pants? Wash cloths everyday or every other day?
Or will employees go out and buy additional clothes at their expense?

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
