You had my attention until your 3rd para, where you revealed yourself to the bigoted, racist, piece of Shee/t that you are. You whole opinion is a load of bull krap! Die. And take your racist bigoted family with you! . . Annoyed wrote: The four corners has the worst attitude when it comes to customer service. Some employees think they are at work to gossip and visit with their friends.(Choose any store in the mall to observe and you will see them on their cell phones or talking with their buddies, not serving customers.) Walmart is just the worst symptom. Why? Perhaps to make the job tolerable. Some people in this area are the most racist, jealous, and rude people one can encounter. I have worked for the gov't across the western US with native, white, and mexican contractors, and nowhere have I seen the backstabbing, ignorant and self centered actions as here. People will go out of their way to treat other people like ****, and this is reflected when the people who have to cater to their needs return the attitude. Nobody uses the word PLEASE in this town. "May I please have some eggs" at a restaurant becomes "EGGS!" or "GIMME EGGS" The younger generation sees this from the elder workers and their families and keep perpetuating the problem. Add that to the cultural (for injuns, wetbacks AND rednecks-you knew a perjorative had to show up eventually so might as well get it over with) problem of drinking up each paycheck and not knowing how to show up on time (or at all) and eventually the management gives up trying to impress upon people that they have to serve the needs of customers. So next time your child is a little monster, make him behave instead of tear up the place. Try using the words PLEASE and THANK YOU. Maybe it will make a difference.

Agreed and again the road runs both ways we all have the choice to shop where we would like so the debate here is what? Who has more right to treat each other like crap, customers towards employees or employees towards customers? Who is the more entitled to get treated decently as a human being??? Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Well, since Walmart is in the business of retail and making money is their objective, according to Sam Walton, you do whatever you can to attract and keep customers--even if they're assholes. Maybe you never heard this from Sam, but he said the customer is ALWAYS right. I understand that if you're from Farmington you don't have a clue about that sort of philosophy, but believe me, it's the MAIN reason Walmart not only has flourished, but has been miles ahead of all other retailers for years. So, dear, since Walmart is only in business to make money, the hurt feelings of their employees are not that near and dear to their heart. Maybe you don't get that.

Sounds to me like you work there and if you don't you should since you know all about what it takes to run a business. Have a nice day:)

And take your racist bigoted family with you! . . <quoted text> I believe this is an example of an ad hominem argument. "Sam Walton"; do you reject all the arguments contained simply due to the fact that you believe this person to be racist? I would think that the argument that the poor customer service in this town is due to the treatment of customer service employees by residents to have merit. The attitudes of some customers in the way they treat people in service positions is sad. Some customers will talk about how an employee looks or dresses, often in a language they think the server cannot understand. Some customers wont respond to polite greetings, and get angry and rude when the employee cannot anticipate their needs by some manner of mind reading. I would also agree with the argument that there is a major problem with people not bothering to show up on time, or calling in sick when they get paid so they can "party", then have no money the following monday to pay bills - a problem that is not race specific. It is also frustrating when one's employees or coworkers show up inebriated and incapable of performing their duties. Sadly, instead of addressing these on a point by point basis and reprimanding the poster for the use of words you find offensive, you lost the argument by calling names. Unfortunately most people on here eventually just call each other names.

Have a nice day:) Yes, Miss Naivete, I do know what it takes to run a business, and certainly Sam Walton knew. He created Walmart on the basis of customer service--over the top customer service. There was nothing he would not do to please customers, and guess what, Walmart grew by leaps and bounds, becoming the number one retailer in the world, and for many years, Sam Walton was the wealthiest man in the world. So little miss snapped, you need to pay attention to how business is supposed to run. It's not about customers pleasing the employees (who, in Farmington, are rude, sullen, and insolent), but it's about employees pleasing the customers.

I wonder if these people that think it's ok to treat the customer like crip, have ever worked anywhere besides WALMART?
The reason WALMART pays them little is because they are worth little.
What happened to the customer is always right? Whoever has the money is the one who is always right, and the customer is the one with the money!
I don't know what is wrong with some of these WALMART employees. When you can't even get them to make eye contact with you, it's pretty sad!
Many years ago I pledged that as long as I could afford it, I would avoid WALMART like the plague. And I have. I'll do without before I shop at WALMART.
People if you keep shopping there, one of these days Walmart will be all there is, and they can raise their prices to whatever they choose then. Think about it.
