I don't know how many Obama voters I spoke to before the election who said he'd never do this....this is one time I hate to say I told you so. Break out those "Blame me, I voted for The One" bumper stickers.

Don't know if it will even make it through Congress, so it may be revised. The most important thing to remember is "HE CAN'T DO ANY WORSE THAN GEORGE W. BUSH!" |
what, your kidding.....he has already done worse than Georgie....and it hasn't even been 100 days.....yikes
Let's hope he does no worse for the sake of this nation and future generations.

ANYTIME U LET GOVERNMENT DICTATE AN INDIVIDUAL'S CARE, U R GIVING UP YOUR PERSONAL FREEDOMS, THIS PLAN IS EXACTLY THAT.THIS WILL PASS I HAVE NO DOUBT, AND U WILL SEE AGE DISCRIMINATION AT A WHOLE NEW LEVEL,BUT IT WILL BE TOO LATE.WAKE UP PEOPLE,SOCIALIZED MEDICINE IS NOT THE ANSWER,THAT IS THE GOVERNMENTS WAY OF CONTROLLING WHO GETS WHAT CARE, HOW MUCH CARE AND WHEN TO STOP, IT WONT BE UP TO U AND YOUR DOC...IT WILL BE UP TO YOUR GOVERNMENT

Can you say....solent green??? We will never be able to offer nationalized health care that is at the same quality level we have now. We can't afford it.
As opposed to right now where it's up to how much they wanna rip you off for from your ever dwindling wallet. Most now decide to not get any care at all because they could finance a month long gambling spree in Vegas for cheaper and doctors are already bogged down in red tape paperwork all day, so really, what's the difference. |
And most can't afford the quality we have now that consists of 10 dollar bottles of peroxide and 5 dollar aspirins. |
Now's the time for Republicans to stand up with their proposals. It's easy to take pot shots but where are your solutions? Doing nothing is not an option considering the impact on Medicare and Medicaid. How about it? You going to participate?

yes it is easy to criticize, but please tell us your plan...

There are 13% uninsured in this country. 40% of the 13% are young people who don't think they need insurance (I work with one). The 13% also includes illegals. Ok, develop something for the uninsured but I don't want nationalized health care for myself. My neighbor came here from Europe and I've heard all about their health care. I kinda like having my mouth numbed with I get a cavity filled, don't you????? I'm really doubting you are from Canada. My uncle and aunt live there, they hate the health care. My aunt can't get a hip replacement because it isn't life sustaining. She is in pain. Leave my health care alone!!!!!!! |

Universal/National Healthcare is a costly failure in every country that currently has it. Do you want to have a government system that puts you on a waiting list based on their priority for care? Stupid Americans that are always looking for the easy way to immeidately fix their problems. There are no "magical" pills and the majority of you would be healthier if you got off of your lazy butts and did some exercise, ate right, didn't drink and quit smoking! After all, why should I be taxed because YOU make poor choices in life?

OK, I live in Indiana, but travel all over. I have insurance. I'm am limited by my insurance to only those doctors and facilities that are within my insurance network. Guess what, the company that owns my insurance also owns the network hospitals and facilities. If I get in an accident (three years ago) and am taken to a hospital outside my network (300 miles from the nearest network ER), my insurance will not pay. So even though I have insurance, I have no insurance. I have to monitor where I go all the time to be sure that I don't go places that have no network facilities. This means business and personal travel restricted by my insurance company.
Whenever I am in a country that has their own National system, I breath a little easier since I don't have to worry about my insurance company not covering me. In Toronto (Can) and in London (UK) I have had to deal with sickness abroad, and I must say, the treatment I received in those countries was exemplary. Not once did I get the monetary run around that I expect when I go to a healthcare facility in this country. And there was no cost at all. I will be paying my non-network ER bill for ten more years. The only people I have ever heard complain about National healthcare in other countries are those from this country who claim to know someone who knows someone in another country waiting for something. The people I know in those countries pay taxes to cover their healthcare and they at least know where the money it going, we can hardly say the same thing in this country. Yes, we americans must be stupid, always falling on our hype. |

What do we do with those in this country who have lost their insurance who are not "the majority of you would be healthier if you got off of your lazy butts and did some exercise, ate right, didn't drink and quit smoking"? Those who aren't fat, or lazy and are able to exercise, but they still end up with a disease that needs treatment. Are they to be denied care simply because they don't have insurance? What would you have them do? Or are you in favor of forced Euthanasia? Maybe that's the conservative answer to National Healthcare, if you are sick, weak, old, disabled, disfigured, ugly, fat, mentally challenged.... oh and not to forget, the obviously sick liberals, then we'll just have you sent to a special clinic for a shot, and we'll feel much better after you're gone? Just nobody mention the smoke.

A lot of truth to the lifestyle comment. Look around, it seems more people are too overweight that are not. Naturally they all seem to have "some sort of rare glandular disease" that is the culprit. However there are also those among us who do the right things with regard to a healthy lifestyle but still cannot get our numbers in the range or do still develop problems. But, still better to play the odds and hope for luck. It's rather irritating to see someone with a handicap plate pull into their space, get out of the car puffing on a cigarette and waddling along carrying twice the weight they should. |

I found this quote and it is very telling of what O is doing. It is very appropriate. You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~~~ The late Dr. Adrian Rogers , 1931 to 2005 ~~~ |
